Right sided Bochdalek diaphragmatic hernia appeared as a life-threatening event in an infant: a case report.

We report a case of a 5-month-old female infant who presented with a cardiorespiratory distress and shock. After thoracic computed tomography (CT) scan, a right sided Bochdalek hernia was diagnosed with massive herniation of the abdominal viscera causing mediastinal shift. The girl underwent emergency laparotomy, which confirmed the right sided diaphragmatic hernia with herniation of small bowel and colon.

Acute Scrotal Pain and a Different Use of an Old Imaging Method.

The differential diagnosis of scrotal pain in childhood is a challenge for every primary care physician. We report the case of a 5-year-old boy presenting to the emergency department owing to acute left scrotal pain. Ultrasound screening revealed a Morgagni hydatid in the left testis, which was surgically removed.

Sclerotic Regressing Large Congenital Nevus.

Regression of congenital nevi is usually associated with loss of pigment or halo formation. In rare cases, regression is characterized by sclerosis and hair loss. We describe a rare case of a sclerotic hypopigmented large congenital melanocytic nevus in which a localized scleroderma-like reaction process of regression seemed to have started in utero and progressed throughout early childhood.
