Memory T cells are a heterogeneous population of immune cells that provide adaptive immunity. Its full recovery seems essential for graft-versus-tumor reactions that provide an opportunity for biological cure in patients with acute leukemia. The use of mismatched or haploidentical donors has increased, which has become possible because of modifications in graft versus host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis.

Materials And Methods: The study included 35 patients who received MSCs obtained from the bone marrow of healthy donors as a treatment of steroid-resistant aGVHD. The clinical parameters of patients, MSCs cultural characteristics, the MSC expression profile for various genes including those involved in immunomodulation, expression of cells surface markers, the source of MSCs, as well as the frequency and number of MSC administrations were analyzed.

Aim: Study of the effect of taking a complex biologically active food supplement with calcium and vitamins D and B to the effectiveness and duration of medical rehabilitation effect at patients with osteoporosis and with a high risk of fractures.
Material And Methods: We examined 119 men and women with osteoporosis and (or) with a high risk of fractures, beginning a course of medical rehabilitation. The 1st study group (SG1) included 41 patients who had already received antiresorptive therapy.
Acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) remains a barrier to the success of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Previously, we demonstrated that CC-chemokine receptor 7 (CCR7) is critical for aGVHD pathogenesis but dispensable for beneficial graft-versus-leukemia responses. As a result, we evaluated a fully human anti-CCR7-blocking antibody as a new approach to prevent aGVHD in preclinical models.

We obtained multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) from the original hematopoietic cell donors and implanted these cells in the periosteum to treat long-term bone marrow aplasia. The results showed that in all patients endogenous blood formation was recovered 2 weeks after MSC administration.

Besides the sixteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons defined as priority pollutants by the US-EPA (EPA-PAHs), a wide range of substituted (NSO-PAC) and alkylated (alkyl-PAC) aromatic tar oil compounds are gaining increased attention for their toxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic and/or teratogenic properties. Investigations on tar oil biodegradation in soil are in part hampered by the absence of an efficient analytical tool for the simultaneous analysis of this wide range of compounds with dissimilar analytical properties.

The mechanisms of myoglobin participation in conservation and intracellular transport of oxygen, as well as its antioxidase, monooxygenase and peroxidase activity are considered.

Extinction coefficients in the visible range of the spectrum have been determined for different derivatives of the studied heme proteins. It is established that variations in the maxima and minima of different absorption bands are inconsiderable.

The ratio of Li+ natural concentration (measured by mass spectrometric isotope dilution technique) in urine to that in blood plasma--(U/P)Li--lies in the range 2-6 in the freshwater species and between 5 and 14 in marine species, i.e.

Free fatty acids and phenols (10%), waxes (38%), and steroids (38%) were found to be the main groups of the secretion lipids. Cholestanol (I), cholesterol (II), androsterone (III), Δ(4)-3α-hydroxy-17-ketoandrostene (IV), 5β, 3α-hydroxy-17-ketoandrostane (V), 5α, 3β, 17α-dihydroxyandrostane (VI), 5β, 3α, 17β-dihydroxyandrostane (VII), and 5β, 3α, 17α-dihydroxyandrostane (VIII) were isolated from the steroid fraction and their structures confirmed by IR, PMR, and mass spectra.

Natural concentrations of lithium in blood plasma and urine of several species of elasmobranchs and teleosts from the Black Sea and in rectal gland fluid of the former were determined by mass-spectrometric isotope dilution techniques. Unlike the teleosts, the elasmobranchs showed a prominent shift of Li/Na ratio in blood plasma with respect to the surrounding water, the plasma Li/Na ratio being five times lower than that of sea-water. Li-Na selectivity was found to be high in the kidneys and negligible in the rectal gland.
