We report on systematic study of transport properties of a 1000 nm HgTe film. In this work, the co-amorphization approach was applied to flubendazole (FluBZ), resulting in the formation of two novel solid forms of FluBZ with l-phenylalanine (Phe) and l-tryptophan (Trp). A variety of physicochemical techniques have been used to describe new systems, including powder X-ray diffraction, thermal methods, infrared spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Co-amorphization has been shown to suppress crystallization tendency and considerably increase the shelf-life storage of amorphous flubendazole solid across a wide range of relative humidities.

The aim of this study was to assess the resistance of bovine mastitis isolates from farms in Bulgaria to different classes of chemotherapeutic drugs by comparison of some phenotypic and genotypic methods by means of Cohen's kappa statistics. The study comprised 546 milk samples from subclinical and clinical mastitis at 14 farms from 9 districts in the country. A total of 92 strains were isolated from tested samples and identified by PCR.

In this work, the cocrystallization approach was applied to itraconazole (ITR), a very slightly soluble triazole antifungal drug, which led to the formation of two new solid forms of ITR with 4-aminobenzoic acid (4AmBA) and 4-hydroxybenzamide (4OHBZA). A thermodynamic analysis of the solid-liquid binary phase diagrams for the (ITR + 4AmBA) and (ITR + 4OHBZA) systems provided conclusive evidence of the cocrystal stoichiometry: 1:1 for the cocrystal with 4-aminobenzoic acid, and 1:2 for the cocrystal with 4-hydroxybenzamide. Powder X-Ray diffraction analysis confirmed the formation of two different polymorphic forms of the [ITR + 4OHBZA] (1:2) cocrystal obtained either through solution or melt crystallization.

This study evaluates the phytochemical composition and ability of herbal preparation AyuFertin, supplemented shortly after calving, to resume the cyclic ovarian activity in postpartum Bulgarian Murrah buffaloes. Systemic therapy with oxytetracycline is often used for treatment of clinical metritis although data about its penetration into the uterus and uterine secretion are lacking. Uterine secretions and milk from six cows with clinical metritis were collected for microbiological assay. The animals were treated intramuscularly with long-acting oxytetracycline (20 mg/kg) and samples of plasma, milk and uterine secretions were collected for determination of the antibiotic concentrations by HPLC-PDA analysis.

The aim of the current study was to determine the gestational age in goats through the measurement of some foetal and uterine structures. Multiple factors act simultaneously on plants to establish complex interaction networks involving nutrients, elicitors and metabolites. Metabolomics offers a better understanding of complex biological systems, but evaluating the simultaneous impact of different parameters on metabolic pathways that have many components is a challenging task. In order to develop new markers for immunofluorescence time-resolved luminescence analysis tetraketodiester carbazole series was obtained. Compound contains methoxycarbonyl reactive groups, separated from the 1,3-dicarbonyl chelating fragment by difluoromethylene spacers (CF2)4. Complexes of this compound with the ions Eu3+ are stable in aqueous solution and possess a long-living intensive luminescence with the main peaks: emission--in the area of 615 nm and excitation--in the 380-390 nm, that distinguishes them from most used analogues.

Plants can be used to produce a diverse repertoire of complex small-molecule compounds and recombinant proteins that are valuable as industrial and pharmaceutical products. But as we move from proof-of-principle experiments and begin to consider the realistic prospects of commercial production, the focus must shift from the achievement of target molecule production and move towards quality, purity and yield aspects that determine commercial feasibility. This review describes some of the recent advances that have been implemented to improve the development of integrated production processes for high-value molecules expressed in plants, including the introduction of novel procedures to increase the likelihood of regulatory acceptance.

We have developed a strategy for the optimization of plant cell suspension culture media using a combination of fractional factorial designs (FFDs) and response surface methodology (RSM). This sequential approach was applied to transformed tobacco BY-2 cells secreting a human antibody (M12) into the culture medium, in an effort to maximize yields. We found that the nutrients KNO₃, NH₄NO₃ and CaCl₂ and the hormones 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) had the most significant impact on antibody accumulation.
