Introduction/objective: Tobacco smoking is a well-known risk factor for cardiovascular and renal diseases. In recent years, alternative types of smoking, including vaping, have been becoming popular. The contribution of vape to vascular and renal injury is not known.

The summarized experimental data on ombrophilic bacteria isolated from dystrophic waters formed by a mycobacterial community during the process of spruce wood decomposition are presented. It was demonstrated that the ombrophilic microbial community was characterized by wide phylogenetic diversity at the initial stage of spruce wood decomposition by xylotrophic fungi under low mineralization conditions. It was noted that bacteria were able to grow under acidic and ultrafresh conditions and most of them were referred to oligotrophs.

Disconnection of central and peripheral parts of motor system leads to severe forms of disability. However, current research of brain-computer interfaces will solve the problem of rehabilitation of patients with motor disorders in future. Chronic recordings of single-unit activity in specialized areas of cerebral cortex could provide appropriate control signal for effectors with multiple degrees of freedom.

Aim: To study peculiar clinical features of osteoporosis in patients with metabolic syndrome (MS).
Methods: We examined 160 patients with osteoarthrosis divided into 2 groups each containing 80 patients with MS and without it (control). Osteoarthrosis was diagnosed using the R.
This work is devoted to the study of the role of iron ions in the carcinogenic and mutagenic activity of chrysotile. For this aim natural chrysotile was treated with ferric chloride (III), washed, crushed and intratracheally introduced into Wistar rats. When administered to rats intact chrysotile induced mesotheliomas in 27,9 + 4,6% of cases, and chrysotile modified with ferric chloride - in 1,3 +/- 1,3%.

Special attention is paid to the greater frequency of MS in the population. Modern data on the pathogenesis of the major components of MS, provoking the development of cardiovascular disease and diabetes type 2 are set out.

In our trial we aimed at elucidation of etiological structure of chronic cystitis recurrences by means of microbiological investigation of urine samples from 72 women on extended spectrum of nutrient media. In all the cases urine was infected with both aerobic and non-clostridial anaerobic bacteria.

The patterns of these transposable elements (TEs) distribution were polymorphic in both the parental strain and selected strains. The similarity in mdg1 and mdg2 patterns between strains selected in one direction was closer than between strains selected in opposite directions, but the selected strains were closer to each other than to the parental strain regardless of selection direction.

Aim: To study microbial repertoire of urine in healthy women and patients with chronic recurrent cystitis (CRC) including facultative anaerobic (FA) and non-clostridial anaerobic (NCA) bacteria. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Triple bacteriological study of urine was performed in three groups of women: group I--22 healthy virgin women aged 18- 25 years, group II--24 women aged 18 - 25 years with regular sexual contacts, group III--72 women aged 20 - 60 years with CRC, before antibacterial therapy.

Patients of the basic group received Artrofoon throughout 12 months by 4 tablets a day, thus it was possible to reach authentic decrease in level of uric acid, improvement of indicators of a lipid spectrum of blood, weight reduction, to stabilise arterial pressure. Thus, positive influence of the preparation on the basic displays of a metabolic syndrome has been noted.

An important role of persistence factors, pathogenicity, and microbial antibiotic resistance in the development of CPOM was demonstrated. The frequency of occurrence of herpes and papilloma viruses was estimated.

We have noticed its positive effect concerning not only the general cholesterol and cholesterol lipoproteid of low density, but also concerning thriglicerol and cholesterol lipoproteid of high density, which confirms its favorable influence on the basic indicators of a lipid spectrum in the patients with a metabolic syndrome.

The histological structure of femoral bones was studied in 70 fetuses aged 15-16, 19-20, 22-25 and 27-29 gestational weeks. Morphometric methods were used to evaluate the number of blood vessels per total area of epiphysis, the length of endochondral trabeculae, the thickness of hypertrophic and columnar cartilage zones, diaphysis wall and its trabeculae thickness, the thickness of endochondral trabeculae merging with the diaphysis wall, and of the bone growing on the epiphysis.

Aim: To study rate of detection of bacteria and viruses from different taxonomic groups and their associations in children with pyelonephritis.
Materials And Methods: Two hundred seventy-four patients aged 5-10 years divided on two groups were studied: 1st group--240 children with chronic secondary pyelonephritis, 2nd group--children with nephrectomy due to terminal stage of renal obstructive process. Qualitative and quantitative composition of bacterial flora in urine and renal biopsy samples was studied by bacteriological methods as well as presence of viruses (HSVI, HSVII, CMV, EBV, HPV) by means of PCR.
Aim: to evaluate the efficacy of cyclopheron used in patients with mild clinical manifestations of focal and infiltrative pulmonary tuberculosis (PT).
Subjects And Methods: Thirty first detected patients with PT, in whom a complex of their etiotropic therapy comprised cyclopheron, and 32 similar patients who received etiotropic agents and placebo were examined. Tuberculosis process activity was confirmed by clinical, X-ray, bacteriological, and immunological studies.
The paper had the objective to study growth dynamics of short tubular wrist bones in children aged from 5 to 16 years and residing in the cities of Shelekhov and Irkutsk. The growth rate in the girls from Irkutsk was shown to be fairly uniform and proportional; in the boys, it substantially increased at the age of 10-11 and 15 years. In the boys living in Shelekhov, the bone growth became activated at the age of 9 and 15 years.
