[The Role of Ombrophilic Dissipotrophic Bacteria in Wood Decomposition].

The summarized experimental data on ombrophilic bacteria isolated from dystrophic waters formed by a mycobacterial community during the process of spruce wood decomposition are presented. It was demonstrated that the ombrophilic microbial community was characterized by wide phylogenetic diversity at the initial stage of spruce wood decomposition by xylotrophic fungi under low mineralization conditions. It was noted that bacteria were able to grow under acidic and ultrafresh conditions and most of them were referred to oligotrophs.

[Etiological structure and antibiotic sensitivity of uropathogens in chronic recurrent infection of the lower urinary tract].

While acute infections of the lower urinary tract (UT) have been studied in detail and antibiotic therapy of such infections is well known, etiology and choice of antibacterial treatment in recurrent chronic UT infection are not so clear. In our trial we aimed at elucidation of etiological structure of chronic cystitis recurrences by means of microbiological investigation of urine samples from 72 women on extended spectrum of nutrient media. [Patterns of transposable elements distribution on the Drosophila melanogaster polytene chromosomes before and after selection for a quantitative trait].

The effect of selection for radius vein length on the distribution of hybridization sites of the P and hobo transposons and the mdgl and mdg2 retrotransposons on polytene chromosomes of Drosophila melanogaster salivary glands was studied. The patterns of these transposable elements (TEs) distribution were polymorphic in both the parental strain and selected strains. [Effect of atorvastatin (liptonorm) on indicators of the lipid spectrum of blood in patients with the metabolic syndrome].

In this work the effects of Atorvastatin (liptonorm) in a dosage of 10 mg/24h during 12 months concerning the basic indicators of a lipid spectrum of blood in the patients with a metabolic syndrome are estimated. We have noticed its positive effect concerning not only the general cholesterol and cholesterol lipoproteid of low density, but also concerning thriglicerol and cholesterol lipoproteid of high density, which confirms its favorable influence on the basic indicators of a lipid spectrum in the patients with a metabolic syndrome.

[Femoral bone morphogenesis in human fetuses in the area of environmental fluoride pollution].

The aim of this study was to determine the peculiarities of femoral bone osteogenesis in human fetuses in the areas with different levels of environmental pollution with fluoride compounds (the city of Irkutsk and the town of Shelekhov). The histological structure of femoral bones was studied in 70 fetuses aged 15-16, 19-20, 22-25 and 27-29 gestational weeks. Morphometric methods were used to evaluate the number of blood vessels per total area of epiphysis, the length of endochondral trabeculae, the thickness of hypertrophic and columnar cartilage zones, diaphysis wall and its trabeculae thickness, the thickness of endochondral trabeculae merging with the diaphysis wall, and of the bone growing on the epiphysis.

Qualitative and quantitative composition of bacterial flora in urine and renal biopsy samples was studied by bacteriological methods as well as presence of viruses (HSVI, HSVII, CMV, EBV, HPV) by means of PCR.

[Peculiarities of wrist bone growth as a criterion for determining the biological age of children living under different environmental conditions].

The paper had the objective to study growth dynamics of short tubular wrist bones in children aged from 5 to 16 years and residing in the cities of Shelekhov and Irkutsk. The growth rate in the girls from Irkutsk was shown to be fairly uniform and proportional; in the boys, it substantially increased at the age of 10-11 and 15 years. In the boys living in Shelekhov, the bone growth became activated at the age of 9 and 15 years.
