Architectural distortion and basal plasmacytosis are the most widely recognized histologic features of chronic ileal inflammation. However, these features might be difficult to assess in small, poorly oriented, or superficial biopsies. Additional features of chronic mucosal damage, including pseudopyloric or pseudofoveolar metaplasia and Paneth cell hyperplasia, have been less commonly reported, and their broader appreciation could facilitate the diagnosis of chronic ileal inflammatory conditions.

Objective: To compare this classification to the Papanicolaou Society of Cytopathology (PSC) system in terms of predictive value and risk of malignancy (ROM) in solid pancreatic lesions.
Design: Retrospective cohort study.

Background: Choosing an optimal post-polypectomy management strategy of malignant colorectal polyps is challenging, and evidence regarding a surveillance-only strategy is limited.
Aim: To evaluate long-term outcomes after endoscopic removal of malignant colorectal polyps.
Methods: A single-center retrospective cohort study was conducted to evaluate outcomes after endoscopic removal of malignant colorectal polyps between 2010 and 2020.
Background: Different endoscopic scoring systems for assessing ulcerative colitis (UC) severity are available. However, most of them are not correlated with disease extent.
Objectives: Our study aimed to compare the predictive value of the PanMay score the endoscopic Mayo (MES), Ulcerative Colitis Endoscopic Index of Severity (UCEIS), and Dublin score in predicting long-term outcomes of UC.

Introduction: POLE mutant phenotype in colon adenocarcinomas represents a rare molecular subtype. These tumours are generally responsive to immune-checkpoint inhibition therapy and, therefore, are currently considered as a subtype with good prognosis. We hereby present the first detailed case presentation of a POLE mutant colon adenocarcinoma with useful microscopic features.

Methods: Patients who had undergone EUS-FNA sampling for solid pancreas lesions between 2014 and 2021 were retrospectively enrolled. The "atypical" and "non-diagnostic" categories of the Papanicolaou Society of Cytopathology System were considered inconclusive and the "negative for malignancy" category of malignancy was suspected clinically.
Background: Diagnostic accuracy and quality of smears obtained by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) are influenced by characteristics of suction and examined organ.
Aims And Methods: Efficiency of EUS-FNA and quality of smears obtained by slow-pull (SP) and standard suction (SS) techniques was prospectively compared in the sampling of pancreatic ( = 56) and extrapancreatic ( = 145) tumors.
Results: SS technique resulted in a higher number of smear pairs both in pancreatic (1.

Congenital laryngocele is an uncommon cause of neonatal stridor. There are only a few cases reported in the literature. The authors present a successfully treated case of an infant, whose life could only be saved by urgent tracheostomy.

Clinically, it presents as a slowly growing, painless, firm, submucosal swelling mainly occurring on the anterior two thirds of the dorsum of the tongue.

Methods: To compare prospectively the diagnostic yield of EUS-FNA samples obtained with slow-pull (SP) and with standard suction technique (SS).
Results: EUS-FNA sampling was diagnostic in 72 of 92 cases (78.
A 76-year-old female patient was admitted to the Level I Emergency Department of University of Szeged with severe abdominal pain and vomiting. The clinical assessment with laboratory tests and radiological investigations confirmed severe sepsis associated with intravascular hemolysis and multiorgan failure and acute pancreatitis. On the abdominal CT, besides of other abnormalities, the presence of gas bubbles in the stomach, small intestines and liver were seen.

Some somatic oncogene mutations (BRAF, NRAS, HRAS, KRAS) as well as gene translocations (RET/PTC, PAX8/PPAR-gamma) have been associated with the development of thyroid cancer. In our study, we analyzed these genetic alterations in 394 thyroid tissue samples (197 papillary carcinomas and 197 healthy).

Materials And Methods: Gene expression analysis was carried out in 100 Hungarian thyroid samples, both normal and papillary tumor tissue sections of the same patient. The specific mRNA to the selected genes was analyzed by TaqMan probe-based quantitative real-time RT-PCR.
