Preterm neonates present unique challenges to the anesthesiologist due to their immature physiology and anatomy. Many preterm neonates are critically ill and can develop necrotizing enterocolitis, respiratory distress syndrome, intra ventricular hemorrhage, and heart failure or retinopathy of prematurity. Anesthesiologists play a vital role in the management of preterm neonates requiring surgical interventions, by integrating their knowledge of the developmental physiology and pharmacology.

This study was conducted to evaluate the accuracy of the Cariogram in predicting the occurrence of caries in first permanent molars. Thirty children aged 8 years were included who were divided in two groups depending on presence of carious or non carious first permanent molars.

While the beta3 transmembrane segment consists of a linear 29-residue alpha-helix, the structure of the alphaIIb transmembrane segment reveals a linear 24-residue alpha-helix (Ile-966 -Lys-989) followed by a backbone reversal that packs Phe-992-Phe-993 against the transmembrane helix. The length of the alphaIIb transmembrane helix implies the absence of a significant transmembrane helix tilt in contrast to its partnering beta3 subunit.

A number of small organic molecules have been reported to inhibit aS aggregation. Here, the interactions of chlorazole black E, Congo red, lacmoid, PcTS-Cu (2+), and rosmarinic acid with aS are examined by NMR spectroscopy to identify aS sequence elements that are masked by these compounds.
