Background: Online digital materials are integral to patient education and health care outcomes in dermatology. Acanthosis nigricans (AN) is a common condition, often associated with underlying diseases such as insulin resistance. Patients frequently search the internet for information related to this cutaneous finding.

Studies have indicated that haemolysis in stored RBC bags is linked to male sex, older age, high haemoglobin count, and increased body mass index (BMI). The study's primary objective was to investigate whether a high BMI, as per Asian Pacific criteria among donors, is associated with an elevated haemolysis rate in stored RBC.

To prevent and mitigate its adverse effects and reduce its burden on society, its aetiopathogeneses must be precisely understood. Numerous studies focusing on the range of diverse anatomic, functional, and lifestyle factors have already been carried out to determine the possible contributory roles of these factors in OSA.

Patients with bicuspid aortic valves (BAV) are predisposed to the development of aortic stenosis. We performed a pairwise meta-analysis, comparing the efficacy of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) versus surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) in patients with BAV. Medical databases were queried to pool comparative studies of interest.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTorsemide, a loop diuretic, is increasingly recognized for its role in managing essential hypertension. Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium and chloride ions in the ascending loop of Henle in the kidneys. By doing so, torsemide promotes diuresis, which refers to increased urine production, and subsequently lowers blood pressure.

Alveolar ridge resorption following tooth extraction poses significant challenges for future dental restorations. This study investigated the efficacy of fish scale-derived hydroxyapatite (FSHA) as a socket preservation graft material to maintain alveolar bone volume and architecture. FSHA was extracted from *Labeo rohita* fish scales and characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis.

Despite this, a majority of children and adolescents do not regularly wear helmets. Our primary objective was to determine if an emergency department (ED)-based helmet distribution program could increase the amount of time children report wearing helmets.

However, due to the aesthetic compromise of the various metal components when placed in the esthetic zone, different modifications have been considered for its fabrication. This case report describes a novel way of restoring partially edentulous arches with increased masticatory efficiency and good emergence profile without compromising the patient's esthetic desires.

In this study, our aim is to evaluate whether statin is being used appropriately in patients with PAD and also evaluate its usage with the number of vascular beds involved.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study reviewed data of patients with a confirmed diagnosis of PAD based on invasive or noninvasive imaging.
Objective(s): The treatment response to neoadjuvant chemoradiation (nCRT) differs largely in individuals treated for rectal cancer. In this study, we investigated the role of radiomics to predict the pathological response in locally advanced rectal cancers at different treatment time points: (1) before the start of any treatment using baseline T2-weighted MRI (T2W-MR) and (2) at the start of radiation treatment using planning CT.
Methods: Patients on nCRT followed by surgery between June 2017 to December 2019 were included in the study.
The gold standard for diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension is right heart catheterization. This procedure requires considerable expertise and has its own procedure related complications. If not done properly, it can lead to misinterpretations of its findings.

Patients often desire to cease skin-picking behavior but are unable to do so. Multiple treatment modalities are effective for ED, including naltrexone.

Methods: This is a 3 centre, 2-arm, 1:1, open, adaptive stratified, randomized controlled trial. We included patients aged ≥ 18 years with heart failure, taking any of the key guideline directed medical treatments, with a history of or currently on a high ceiling diuretic.
Background: Pediatric patients often receive topical anesthesia before skin procedures in the Emergency Department, with EMLA cream and amethocaine gel being common choices. The most effective option remains a subject of debate.
Objective: Our goal was to compare EMLA cream with amethocaine gel in pediatric patients undergoing topical anesthesia, focusing on outcomes: first-attempt cannulation success, child-reported visual analogue scale (VAS) score, parent-reported VAS score, observed pain score, child-reported absence of pain, and child-reported acceptable anesthesia.
Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) is a worldwide viral infection of felids. The disease is usually asymptomatic, but it can cause mild diarrhoea; however, few numbers of cases may develop a severe systemic disease known as feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). This study aims to determine the prevalence of FCoV shedding in the faeces of stray cats in Kuwait and detect antibodies against FCoV in their serum.

Settings And Design: Prospective In Vivo Study.
Material And Methods: This prospective in vivo study was conducted in the Department of Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Christian Dental College, Ludhiana.
Aim: This study aimed to systematically review the frequency and type of intraoral prosthetic rehabilitation in patients with rhino-orbital-cerebral-mucormycosis (ROCM).
Settings And Design: Systematic review following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines.
Materials And Methods: An electronic search was conducted in databases including PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar.
Excessive wear of the natural dentition results in the loss of tooth anatomy and the vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO) which may necessitate full mouth rehabilitation. Successful full-mouth rehabilitation with increased VDO requires accurate recording and transfer of the newly raised VDO with provisional restorations. Conventional bite registration can incur errors during the recording and transfer of vertical dimensions.

The role of an anesthesiologist is primarily airway management, either by endotracheal intubation or tracheostomy. Securing a definitive airway before wound exploration and repair of transected tissues is difficult as such injuries are often accompanied by distortion of the airway anatomy complicated by vascular or tissue bleed.

Methods: Sixty tooth specimens were grouped into two groups based on the type of restorations (GIC (n = 30) and Zirconomer (n = 30)). The samples were further divided into three subgroups (n = 10) based on the protective coating agent (Petroleum jelly, G-COAT Plus, or COAT IT) applied.
