Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess dental students’ anxiety and self-perceptions when performing elective endodontic procedures, highlighting differences between beginner and senior students.
  • Beginning students (G1) displayed higher pre-operative anxiety compared to post-operative anxiety, while senior students (G2) reported more confidence during procedures.
  • Results indicated that although anxiety decreases with experience, it increases again as graduation approaches, suggesting that more elective endodontic courses could help alleviate student anxiety through added practice.

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the experience of dental students and assess their anxiety levels when performing emergency endodontic treatments.

Methods: Undergraduate students completed the STAI-Trait/State and a questionnaire to assess their confidence level to perform each step of an emergency endodontic procedure. They also answered a numerical scale (NRS) for anxiety before and after emergency care.

Chrysolaena obovata stores inulin in the rhizophores, associated with drought tolerance. While crop plants are widely studied concerning the interactive effects of high [CO2] and drought, few studies reported these effects in native species. Here, we evaluated the combined effects of these factors on water status and fructan metabolism in C.

Background And Aims: Chrysolaena obovata, an Asteraceae of the Brazilian Cerrado, presents seasonal growth, marked by senescence of aerial organs in winter and subsequent regrowth at the end of this season. The underground reserve organs, the rhizophores, accumulate inulin-type fructans, which are known to confer tolerance to drought and low temperature. Fructans and fructan-metabolizing enzymes show a characteristic spatial and temporal distribution in the rhizophores during the developmental cycle.
