Ring finger protein 128 (RNF128) is a transmembrane E3 ubiquitin ligase mainly localized in the endoplasmic reticulum that is involved in various processes, including T cell anergy and tumor progression. However, the biological function of RNF128 in N-glycosylation remains unexplored. To investigate the functional role of RNF128, we used the proximity-directed biotin labeling method, and identified ribophorin I (RPN1) as a novel RNF128 substrate, demonstrating that RNF128 ubiquitinated RPN1 and promoted its degradation.

This article studies the problem of stabilizing a leader-follower formation specified by a set of bearing constraints while disturbed by some unknown uniformly bounded disturbances. A set of leaders are positioned at their desired positions while each follower is modeled by a single integrator with an additive time-varying disturbance. Delayed graft function in kidney transplant is associated with an increased risk of rejection and graft loss. An intramolecular iron-catalyzed nitroso ene reaction was developed to afford six- or seven-membered -heterocycles from nitroarenes using an earth abundant iron catalyst and phenylsilane as the terminal reductant. The reaction can be triggered using as little as 3 mol % of iron(II) acetate and 3 mol % of 4,7-dimethoxyphenanthroline as the ligand. The scope of the reaction is broad tolerating a range of electron-releasing or electron-withdrawing substituents on the nitroarene, and the -substituent can be modified to diastereoselectively construct benzoxazines, dihydrobenzothiazines, tetrahydroquinolines, tetrahydroquinoxalines, or tetrahydrobenzooxazepines.

In this study, we assessed the controlled synthesis and efficacy of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) on two distinct types of star-like Au@Ag core-shell nanoarrays. These nanoarrays were designed based on gold nanostars (AuNSs), which were synthesized with and without CTAB surfactant (AuNSs-CTAB and AuNSs-FS, respectively). The AuNS-FS nanoparticles were synthesized a novel modification process, which helped overcome the previous limitations in the free-surfactant preparation of AuNSs by significantly increasing the number of branches, increasing the sharpness of the branches and minimizing the adsorption of the surfactant on the surface of AuNSs.
