Introduction: Despite the increasing number of bariatric procedures over the recent years, the physiological changes in secondary esophageal motility and distensibility parameters after surgery remain unknown.

Methods: This is a retrospective, single-center cohort study comparing esophageal planimetry and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) distensibility in post-bariatric surgery patients (Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB), sleeve gastrectomy (SG), and conversion/revisional patients (DH)) and native-anatomy patients with obesity (NAC). Distensibility refers to the area achieved with a certain amount of pressure, and secondary peristalsis represents the esophageal response to an intended obstruction.

Objective: To evaluate the detection rate and therapeutic implication of the infiltration of the internal mammary chain (IMCI) by [F]FDG PET/MRI for staging of patients with breast cancer.

Methods: Prospective study including 41 women with breast cancer (stage ≥ IIB) staged by [F]FDG PET/MR. Two-phase exam: breast imaging (prone), whole-body (supine).

Introduction: Obstetric complications are more common in women with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) than in the general population.

Objective: To assess pregnancy outcomes in women with SLE from the RELESSER cohort after 12 years of follow-up.

Methods: A multicentre retrospective observational study was conducted.

Background: Post-stroke oropharyngeal dysphagia (PS-OD) and its complications increase healthcare costs, suggesting that its appropriate management is cost-effective. We aimed to assess the efficiency of healthcare interventions in PS-OD management.

Methods: A systematic review was conducted following PRISMA recommendations.

Antiretroviral therapy (ART) has modified the prognosis of HIV which has evolved into a chronic condition. People living with HIV (PLWH) are living longer presenting an increased number of comorbidities leading to polypharmacy. Literature on the prevalence, associated factors, drug-drug interactions (DDIs), effects on ART-outcomes, geriatric conditions, and nutritional status together with health-interventions aimed to reduce it is presented in this review.

Background/objectives: Factors associated with chronic heart failure (CHF) in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) have received little attention. Recent data on the use of hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection have cast doubt on its cardiac safety. The factors associated with CHF, including therapy with antimalarials, were analyzed in a large multicenter SLE cohort.

Background: Nosocomial bloodstream infection (nBSI) is an important clinical concern among COVID-19 hospitalised patients. It can cause sepsis and septic shock leading to high morbidity, mortality, and the emergence of antibiotic resistance. The aim of this case-control study is to identify the risk factors associated with the nBSI development in COVID-19 hospitalised patients and its incidence.

Background: Bipolar disorder (BD) represents one of the most therapeutically complex psychiatric disorders. The development of a feasible comprehensive psychological approach to complement pharmacotherapy to improve its clinical management is required. The main objective of the present randomized controlled trial (RCT) was to test the efficacy of a novel adjunctive treatment entitled integrative approach in patients with BD, including: psychoeducation, mindfulness training, and functional remediation.

Aim: Evaluate the therapy impact of initial staging in patients diagnosed with prostate cancer by F-choline PET/MRI hybrid technique.

Material: A prospective study which included 31 patients diagnosed with prostate cancer; Gleason > 7; mean PSA 13.6 ng/mL (range 6.

The ability of attributing mental states to oneself and to the others (theory of mind, ToM) is impaired in schizophrenia. ToM is not a monolithic function, it includes different capacities: some implies the decoding of affective states, others the reasoning about mental states. We have developed the BAT, a Battery to Assess Theory of mind abilities in adult psychotic subjects in an ecological audiovisual format.

Background: The efficacy of adjunctive group psychoeducation in bipolar disorder has been proven although treatment response differ among individuals. The aim of this study was to characterize responders and non-responders to group psychoeducation in order to identify baseline variables that could predict treatment response.

Methods: The sample was composed of 103 medicated euthymic patients with bipolar disorder referred to 21 sessions of group psychoeducation (6 months).

Introduction: Bipolar disorder is related to a high level of personal, familial, social and economic burden. There is a need for feasible adjunctive psychological interventions easy to implement in clinical practice in order to enhance aspects that medication alone cannot achieve. This study aims to evaluate the impact of a 12-session adjunctive integrative program designed for patients with bipolar disorder.

Background: Bipolar disorder (BD) is associated with social cognition (SC) impairments even during remission periods although a large heterogeneity has been described. Our aim was to explore the existence of different profiles on SC in euthymic patients with BD, and further explore the potential impact of distinct variables on SC.

Methods: Hierarchical cluster analysis was conducted using three SC domains [Theory of Mind (ToM), Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Attributional Bias (AB)].

Background: Improving functioning in patients with bipolar disorder (BD) is one of the main objectives in clinical practice. Of the few psychosocial interventions that have been specifically developed to enhance the psychosocial outcome in BD, functional remediation (FR) is one which has demonstrated efficacy. The aim of this study was to examine which variables could predict improved functional outcome following the FR intervention in a sample of euthymic or subsyndromal patients with BD.

Aim: To standardize acquisition protocols for F-Choline PET/CT to prevent from urine interference, to determine the best time point for the whole-body study, and to assess whether "dual point" acquisition allows for differentiating malignant vs. benign lesions.

Methods: One hundred consecutive patients with prostate cancer were prospectively studied.

Objective: To assess the detection rate of F-Choline PET/MRI and subsequent changes in therapy approach for patients with prostate cancer treated by prostatectomy and with rising levels of PSA <1 ng/ml.

Methods: Prospective study with our first 36 patients with prostatectomy for prostate cancer and rising levels of PSA, who were referred for an F-Choline PET/MRI study. A dual-phase study was acquired after intravenous administration of 185±10% MBq of F-Choline: 1) early imaging (immediately after tracer administration) of prostate area (emission PET/Multiparametric MRI).

The main aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of functional remediation (FR) in serum brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels in euthymic adult patients with Bipolar Disorder (BD). A total of 128 participants were recruited at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona. They were assessed at baseline and at the end of follow-up by the means of Hamilton Depression Scale (HAM-D), Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS) and Functioning Assessment Short Test (FAST), as well as a clinical structured interview to collect clinical and demographic variables of interest.

Objective: The aim was to examine the heterogeneity of psychosocial outcomes in euthymic bipolar disorder (BD) patients and analyse the potential influence of distinct variables on functioning.

Method: Using a hierarchical cluster exploratory analysis, 143 euthymic patients with diagnosis of BD were grouped according to their functional performance based on domains scores of the Functioning Assessment Short Test (FAST). The resulting groups were compared on sociodemographic, clinical and neurocognitive variables to find factors associated with each functional cluster.

Background: The concept of well-being which focuses on positive emotions has received increased research attention. However, a consensus definition of this term is lacking. The Well-Being Index scale (WHO-5) is a generic, self-report scale that contains five Likert-type items to evaluate psychological well-being.

Over the last decade, there has been a growing appreciation of the importance of identifying and treating cognitive impairment associated with bipolar disorder, since it persists in remission periods. Evidence indicates that neurocognitive dysfunction may significantly influence patients' psychosocial outcomes. An ever-increasing body of research seeks to achieve a better understanding of potential moderators contributing to cognitive impairment in bipolar disorder in order to develop prevention strategies and effective treatments.
