Background: Anterolateral ligament reconstruction (ALLR) or lateral extra-articular tenodesis (LET) has been used more frequently in conjunction with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) in recent years. However, there are still concerns that these procedures may lead to complications such as overconstraint of the lateral compartment, stiffness, infections, tunnel convergence, and other intra- and postoperative complications because of increased surgical time and the need for additional procedures.
Hypothesis/purpose: The lateral extra-articular procedure will reduce the failure rate of reconstructed ACLs without increasing the number of complications.
Purpose: To examine the effects of tourniquet use in arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction in terms of (1) intraoperative visualization, (2) surgical time, (3) consumption of sterile saline, and (4) postoperative pain.
Methods: In this prospective randomized clinical trial, patients were assigned to Tourniquet Group or No Tourniquet treatment groups. The primary outcomes were intraoperative visualization, with scores ranging from 0 to 10 (0 = no visibility; 10 = clear and perfect display), surgical time, and the consumption of sterile saline.
Introduction: Extracellular vesicles from mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC-EVs) are potent stimulators of naïve cartilage and their injection is studied in clinical trials for cartilage lesions, since often cartilage repaired with conventional approaches is incomplete or less performant leading to joint degeneration. The main pitfall of these innovative approaches is the high EVs dispersion into the joint cavity and consequent low concentration at lesion site. Thus, biological scaffolds for concentration of EVs where needed might be a promising option.

Methods: One hundred and seventy-two UKA patients were prospectively enrolled in the study. 75 patients underwent a minimally invasive FB medial UKA (referred to hereinafter as the 'FB group'); 97 patients were treated with a minimally invasive MB medial UKA.
In this report, we present a case of a 57-year-old man complaining of pain in both his hips. Clinically, the patient reported lameness and reduction in the range of motion of the hips. Radiographic imaging showed a very narrow medullary femoral canal, confirmed by a computed tomography scan.

Cardiovascular disease is a frequent complication and the most common cause of death in patients with CKD. Despite landmark medical advancements, mortality due to cardiovascular disease is still 20 times higher in CKD patients than in the general population, which is mainly due to the high prevalence of risk factors in this group. Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the return to amateur sports of patients under 65 years, following medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (mUKA) versus lateral unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (lUKA). It was hypothesized that patients younger than 65 years who underwent lateral or medial unicondylar knee replacement will result in similar rates to amateur sports, at a minimum follow-up of 2 years.
Method: Patients who underwent medial or lateral UKA participated in a 2-year follow-up program, where they were clinically evaluated for their return to amateur sports, using the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) activity scale and the High-Activity Arthroplasty Score (HAAS).
Background: Distal transradial access (dTRA) has been recently proposed as an innovative access for coronary procedures and a valuable alternative to conventional transradial access (cTRA). The aim of this study was to assess the safety of dTRA versus cTRA in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary angiography and intervention.
Methods: In this single-center randomized trial, consecutive patients admitted for stable cardiac condition or acute coronary syndrome (ACS) were assigned to dTRA or cTRA.
Purpose: To compare the rate of return to sports and body mass index (BMI) reduction in patients who underwent surgery for unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) with either Cobalt-Chromium (CoCr) alloy UKA or with hypoallergenic UKA, stratified by age, gender and BMI.
Methods: Two consecutive cohorts of patients with a total of 172 UKA and a minimum 2-year follow-up period were prospectively included in this comparative study. The first cohort consisted of 136 consecutive series of standard Cobalt-Chromium (CoCr Group).
