Primary Extranodal Marginal Zone Lymphoma of the Renal Pelvis: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Lymphomas account for approximately 5% of nonurothelial tumors of the urinary tract and develop in the bladder in 90% of cases. The most common lymphomas histologic type of this location is extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma). MALT lymphoma of the upper urinary tract is casuistically rare.

CHID1 Is a Novel Prognostic Marker of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.

There is an urgent need for identification of new prognostic markers and therapeutic targets for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In this study, we evaluated immune cells markers in 100 NSCLC specimens. Immunohistochemical analysis revealed no prognostic value for the markers studied, except CD163 and CD206.

Immunosuppressive Phenotype of Esophagus Tumors Stroma.

Background: Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) contribute significantly to the development of immunosuppressive properties of a tumor. In this study, we performed immunohistochemical analysis of immune cells of esophageal tumors stroma.

Methods: Paraffin-embedded tissue specimens from 48 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) patients were retrospectively collected for immunohistochemical analysis of stromal cells.

Anatomic-histologic study of the floor of the mouth: the lingual lymph nodes.

Objective: The lingual lymph nodes are inconstant nodes located within the fascial/intermuscular spaces of the floor of the mouth. Oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma has been reported to recur and metastasize in lingual lymph nodes with poor prognosis. Lingual lymph nodes are not currently included in basic tongue squamous cell carcinoma surgery.

Simultaneous expression of flotillin-1, flotillin-2, stomatin and caveolin-1 in non-small cell lung cancer and soft tissue sarcomas.

Background: At the present time, there is a lack of data about the involvement of flotillins and stomatin in the development of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and soft tissue sarcomas (STS). Moreover, changes in expression of members of different families of the microdomain-forming proteins (caveolins and SPFH-domain containing family) are usually investigated independently of each other. In this study we performed a combined analysis of flotillins, stomatin, and caveolin-1 expression in these pathologies and evaluated correlations between generated data and clinicopathological characteristics of the specimens.
