Xylella fastidiosa subsp. pauca (Xfp) currently presents a serious threat to agriculture in Europe and in the Mediterranean, following its discovery in several countries. Addressing this bacterial plant disease with traditional agricultural practices and management strategies has proven inadequate, highlighting the urgent need for effective and environmentally safe antibacterial solutions.

Given the pressures on secondary care resources, LUTS may be overlooked or inadequately assessed and therefore patients may be burdened for an extended period before treatment.
Methods: In a debate held at the International Consultation on Incontinence Research Society (ICI-RS) meeting in Bristol in June 2024, we considered how new technologies might contribute to an expedited, dignified and effective investigation of LUTS.
In light of the significant impact of climate change, it is imperative to identify effective solutions to reduce the environmental burdens of industrial production and to promote recycling strategies also for thermosetting polymers. In this work, the mechanical recycling of phenolic resins, obtained from industrial production scrap of plastic knobs for household appliances, was optimized. The feasibility of a partial substitution of virgin materials with recycled ones was investigated both at a laboratory and industrial scale.

However, this balance can lead to the gradual depletion of essential micronutrients, particularly iron. Over time, decreasing iron levels can negatively impact plant health and productivity, making the monitoring and management of iron in aquaponic systems vital.

Therefore, preserving the soil water content is essential for maintaining forest diversity and plant vitality. To improve soil hydraulic properties and reduce drought vulnerability, three xanthan-gum-based soil conditioners (SC_R, SC_CG, and SC_ZZC) were developed under the European ONEforest project.

The Ni/PiNe catalyst was fully characterized and tested in the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling under microwave irradiation. Although Ni is a promising candidate for replacing Pd-based catalytic systems, it generally requires a high catalyst amount and the exploitation of ligands and additives to enhance the reaction rate.

So, this study evaluated the effectiveness of on-farm lung ultrasonography in detecting lung consolidations on 27 goats. The goats, scheduled for slaughter, underwent complete clinical examinations and lung ultrasonography.

The relationship between both PTSS and PTG is not clear in CC survivors. Assessing challenges to core beliefs and rumination could give information regarding the different paths that lead to traumatic responses.

BFs were at first pretreated with O, obtaining surface free hydroxyl groups that allowed the subsequent covalent immobilization of biosourced GA units on the fiber through ester linkages. Phenolic -OH groups of the GA units were then exploited for the complexation of iron phenyl phosphonate, resulting in the target-complex-coated BF fiber (BF-GA-FeP).

We conducted two studies, the first testing internal validity aspects of the IDAS-II and the second testing the external validity of the scales. In the first study we adapted the IDAS-II to Brazilian Portuguese and tested its internal structure, including a higher order factorial solution coherent with the internalizing spectrum, the stability of the factor structure, and its measurement invariance for sex and racial groups.

However, the R/M HNSCC real-world population is generally frailer, often presenting with multiple comorbidities, worse performance status and older age than the population included in phase III clinical trials.
Methods: This is a retrospective, single-centre analysis of patients with R/M HNSCC treated with pembrolizumab-based first-line treatment.
Since the discovery of graphene, there has been a wide range of the literature dealing with its versatile structure and easy binding of biomolecules as well as its large loading capacity. In the emerging field of immunotherapy, graphene and its derivatives have potential uses as drug delivery platforms directly into tumour sites or as adjuvants in cancer vaccines, as they are internalized by monocytes which in turn may activate adaptive anti-tumoral immune responses. In this study, we expose cells of the innate immune system and a human acute monocytic leukemia cell line (THP-1) to low doses of small-sized GO nanosheets functionalized with bovine serum albumin (BSA) and fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), to study their acute response after internalization.

The LUT is a complex system, comprising various synergetic components (i.e., bladder, urethra, neural control), each with its own dynamic functioning and high interindividual variability.

Rheological measurements highlighted that SCs with cellulose fillers characterized by a high aspect ratio and low oxide ash content exhibited an average increase of 21% in yield stress compared to neat Xanthan gum. The presence of cellulose fillers in the composites resulted in a slower water release than that of neat XG, limiting the volumetric shrinkage during the drying process.

Black rats () are invasive species that disrupt native flora and fauna on islands and serve as potential competent reservoirs for various pathogens and parasites. Microparasites screening was conducted in rat populations from small islands in central Italy (the Pontine Islands and Pianosa) with the aim of assessing the role of rats in maintaining infections, particularly in cases where key reservoir hosts were scarce or absent.

The sulphonated biochar, PiNe-SOH, employed to target the methylene blue dye adsorption, was successfully synthesized via a mild, step-economical chemical carbonization-functionalization reaction. The presence of SOH groups on the PiNe-SOH surface played a critical role in significantly enhancing the adsorption capacity.

By exploiting the "release and catch" mechanism of action of the catalytic system, we used BozPhos as a broadly applicable chiral ligand, furnishing high enantioselectivities across all types of examined substrates containing methyl, cyclopropyl and aryl C-H bonds. For each reaction, the reaction scope was investigated, giving rise to 30 enantioenriched products, obtained with high yields and enantioselectivities, and minimal palladium leaching.
