Musculoskeletal diseases of the foot and ankle are common reasons for primary care consultations. The purpose of this article, which focuses on the seven most common foot and ankle pathologies seen in general practice, is to help general practitioners perform an initial radiological assessment that allows for a correct diagnosis and can then be used by the specialist without the need for repeat imaging. This approach optimizes collaboration between the general practitioner and the specialist, reduces costs, and avoids unnecessary patient radiation.

Sacral stress fractures are an unusual but curable cause of low-back pain that should be considered in differential diagnosis, particularly in elderly osteoporotic patients. Rarely, they may occur in young women during the last trimester of pregnancy or a few weeks after delivery. Encompassing fatigue and insufficiency fractures, the occurrence of sacral stress fractures appears to be relatively under-reported, because of the general lack of awareness of this condition and the non-specificity of symptoms.

We present the case of an unusual and serious complication of hip arthroscopy due to the severance of the inferior gluteal artery. The lesion induced a severe anemic condition and the formation of a large pseudoaneurysm, which compressed the sciatic nerve and left permanent neurologic sequelae. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of its kind.
