Article Synopsis
  • Two new species of actinomycetes, Rathayibacter caricis and Rathayibacter festucae, were discovered in specific environments associated with the plants Carex sp. and Festuca rubra.
  • These species are classified within the genus Rathayibacter and show distinct chemotaxonomic and phenotypic characteristics compared to existing species.
  • Rathayibacter caricis is unique for its fucose-containing cell wall, while Rathayibacter festucae is identifiable by its rose-orange colony color.
