Sleep problems are common in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), with potential repercussions on neurobehavioral functioning exacerbating socio-communicative impairments and aggressive behaviors. Parent reports are the most used method to assess sleep in pediatric populations and a modified 23-item of Children's Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ) for ASD has been proposed in the United States. The generalizability of the CSHQ for ASD has yet to be validated across countries, including Italy.

Long bed rest and immobilisation have always been common after the implant, but a consensus does not exist on the argument.
Purpose: To map and synthesise available literature on the mobilisation approach after the implant of a CIED and which correlated outcomes exist.
Background: Firefighting is risky and impacts the mental and physical health of personnel. While most research focuses on men firefighters, recent work has highlighted mental health concerns among women including depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Social support is a known protective factor for mental health; however, women may be excluded from the supportive peer network of the firehouse.

The literature suggests that alterations in functional connectivity (FC) of the Salience Network (SN) may contribute to the manifestation of some clinical features of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The SN plays a key role in integrating external sensory information with internal emotional and bodily information. An atypical FC of this network could explain some symptomatic features of ASD such as difficulties in self-awareness and emotion processing and provide new insights into the neurobiological basis of autism.

Current treatment options for HS are limited, as only adalimumab and secukinumab are approved for severe cases. Given the overlapping pathogenetic features between HS and psoriasis, anti-IL-17 and anti-IL-23 drugs could represent valuable treatments for the management of HS.

Methods: The present study was a multicenter, binational (Argentina/Colombia), prospective, cohort study, conducted in 21 intensive care units (ICUs) and including pregnant or postpartum patients with COVID-19 pneumonia requiring advanced respiratory support and their fetuses/neonates. Advanced respiratory support was defined as high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), non-invasive ventilation (NIV) or invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV).
In recent years, the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, to imitate human behavioral patterns have been attracting growing interest from experimental psychology. Although ChatGPT can successfully generate accurate theoretical and inferential information in several fields, its ability to exhibit a Theory of Mind (ToM) is a topic of debate and interest in literature. Impairments in ToM are considered responsible for social difficulties in many clinical conditions, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This retrospective multicenter study delves into the distinctive clinical, anamnestic, histopathologic, and prognostic attributes of melanoma in Adolescent and Young Adults (AYA), defined as patients diagnosed at ≤40 years, across four Italian centers. Through a computer-based review of clinical records from 1 January 2010 to 30 September 2023, AYA melanomas were contrasted with non-AYA melanomas (>40 years) among 1452 patients.

Risankizumab is an anti-interleukin-23 humanized monoclonal antibody approved for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. We conducted a 3-year retrospective study to evaluate the effectiveness and the safety of risankizumab in patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis, comparing those with and without the presence of at least one cardiometabolic comorbidity (CMD).

To disentangle disorder-specific GMV correlates, we conducted a large-scale multidisorder meta-analysis using a novel approach that explicitly models co-occurring disorders.
Methods: We systematically reviewed voxel-based morphometry studies indexed in PubMed and Scopus up to January 2023 that compared adults with major mental disorders (anorexia nervosa, schizophrenia spectrum, anxiety, bipolar, major depressive, obsessive-compulsive, and posttraumatic stress disorders plus attention-deficit/hyperactivity, autism spectrum, and borderline personality disorders) with comparison participants.
: The purposes of the present study were to assess gait by using a novel approach that plots two adjacent joint angles and the postural control in individuals with autism (ASD) and individuals with typical neurodevelopmental (TD). : The surface electromyography (sEMG) activity was measured synchronously with the other variables. Twenty young adult men, 10 with TD and 10 with a diagnosis of ASD, took part in this study.

However, long-term real-world data on its effectiveness in patients with inadequate response to ustekinumab are limited. This study investigates guselkumab's long-term effectiveness and safety in patients with psoriasis with partial response to ustekinumab.

HRV is a promising biomarker, but its dynamics during acute mania or depression episodes are poorly understood. Using a Bayesian approach, we developed a probabilistic model of HRV changes in BD, measured by the natural logarithm of the Root Mean Square of Successive RR interval Differences (lnRMSSD).

This review aims to comprehensively investigate ARM's diagnosis, management, and treatment, emphasizing its clinical characteristics, laboratory findings, and implications for patient prognosis. A systematic literature search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane CENTRAL databases from inception to 1 July 2024.

Study Design: We selected systematic reviews and meta-analyses of observational studies on diagnostic biomarkers for psychotic disorders, published until February 1, 2018. Data extraction was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.
: Amelanotic/hypomelanotic melanomas (AHMs) account for 2-8% of all cutaneous melanomas. Due to their clinical appearance and the lack of specific dermoscopic indicators, AHMs are challenging to diagnose, particularly in thinner cutaneous lesions. The aim of our study was to evaluate the clinicopathological and dermoscopic features of thin AHMs.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFActinic keratosis (AK) is a frequent precancerous skin lesion that mostly affects chronically sun-exposed areas. Chronic sun damage leads to various mutations in onco-suppressor and oncogenic genes which cause an uncontrolled proliferation of atypical keratinocytes. Untreated AKs may evolve in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC), with the consequent need for dermato-surgical excision or even for systemic immunotherapy in case of invasive/metastatic cSCCs.

Background: The relative importance of different components of cognitive reserve (CR), as well as their differences by gender, are poorly established.
Objective: To explore several dimensions of CR, their differences by gender, and their effects on cognitive performance and trajectory in a cohort of older people without relevant psychiatric, neurologic, or systemic conditions.
Methods: Twenty-one variables related to the education, occupation, social activities, and life habits of 1,093 home-dwelling and cognitively healthy individuals, between 68 and 86 years old, were explored using factorial analyses to delineate several dimensions of CR.
