Sodium-glucose transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors such as empagliflozin are one of the main treatments for type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) and heart failure (HF). They have also demonstrated anti-arrhythmic effects in some preclinical and clinical studies. The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of empagliflozin on ventricular arrhythmias in HF patients with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD).
