The design of interfaces between nanostructured electrodes and advanced electrolytes is critical for realizing advanced electrochemical double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) that combine high charge-storage capacity, high-rate capability, and enhanced safety. Toward this goal, this work presents a novel and sustainable approach for fabricating ionogel-based electrodes using a renewed slurry casting method, in which the solvent is replaced by the ionic liquid (IL), namely 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (EMIFSI). This method avoids time-consuming and costly electrolyte-filling steps by integrating the IL directly into the electrode during slurry preparation, while improving the rate capability of EDLCs based on non-flammable ILs.

Two-dimensional (2D) conjugated metal-organic frameworks (c-MOFs) are promising materials for supercapacitor (SC) electrodes due to their high electrochemically accessible surface area coupled with superior electrical conductivity compared to traditional MOFs. In this work, porous and non-porous HHB-Cu (HHB=hexahydroxybenzene), derived through surfactant-assisted synthesis are studied as representative 2D c-MOF models with different characteristics, showing diverse reversible redox reactions with Na and Li in aqueous (10 M NaNO) and organic (1.0 M LiPF in ethylene carbonate and dimethyl carbonate) electrolytes, respectively.

Problem: Women with PCOS have a reduced total antioxidant level in addition to higher oxidative stress. Quercetin is a flavonol-type antioxidant that may be found in many foods. Does quercetin affect inflammatory and hormonal factors and clinical outcomes in PCOS patients?

Method Of Study: Seventy-two women with PCOS were randomly allocated to one of two intervention groups, and each received a daily dosage of 500 mg of Quercetin for the intervention group or a placebo for the control group for a period of 40 days from the start of the menstrual cycle until the day of ovulation.

This clinical trial evaluated the effect of preemptive use of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug piroxicam in a single dose 30 min prior to in-office bleaching on the prevention of tooth sensitivity (TS) reported by patients. Fifty patients were submitted to two sessions of in-office tooth bleaching with 35% hydrogen peroxide used for 2 sessions, each consisting of a single 45-min application, with an interval of 7 days between session. Thirty minutes prior to the procedure, the patient randomly received a single dose of piroxicam (200 mg) or placebo in a double-blind, randomized, crossover design.

This in vitro study aimed to evaluate the effect of two alternative clinical protocols on the tooth bleaching effectiveness of 37% carbamide peroxide. Thirty enamel-dentin blocks from bovine incisors were stained with a coffee solution for 1 week. After color measurement at baseline with a portable spectrophotometer, the blocks were bleached during two 45-min applications of 37% carbamide peroxide with a 2-day interval between bleaching procedures, according to one of the following protocols: 1) Control: placement of bleaching agent over dried enamel; 2) Moist enamel: placement of bleaching agent over enamel previously humidified with a damp gauze for 1 min; 3) Moist cotton pellet: covering the bleaching agent with a moist cotton pellet during the entire bleaching procedure.

Objectives: To evaluate the effect of combining in-office with at-home bleaching procedures in terms of the time required to obtain satisfactory tooth color, final color changes, and tooth sensitivity (TS) reported by patients.

Due to the restricted potential of the heart to regenerate its damaged region, stem cell therapy is a promising treatment modality for myocardial infarction. It has been shown that incubation of bone marrow-derived stromal cells (BMSCs) with initial steps of cardiac differentiation , can have a significant effect on their therapeutic potential to treat myocardial infarction. Based on these well-established principals we were encouraged to study the direct co-culture of rat BMSCs with neonatal mouse almost pure cardiomyocytes (APCs) and cardiac niche cells (CNCs) in static 2D and microfluidic cell culture systems.
