[Tthe efficacy and safety of drug therapy divaza in patients with chronic cerebral ischemia].

Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of divazа in the treatment of cognitive and emotional disorders in patients with chronic cerebral ischemia (CCI) based on clinical findings and laboratory markers of endothelial dysfunction.

Material And Methods: Thirty patients with CCI, aged 40 to 70 years, were examined. All patients were treated with divazа (2 tablets 3 times a day) for 12 weeks.

[A role of glutamate decarboxylase in Alzheimer's disease].

Objective: To evaluate the levels of the main GABA synthetic enzyme, glutamate decarboxylase (represented by two isoforms, GAD65 and GAD67) in the cerebellum cortex of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and mentally healthy subjects.

Materials And Methods: Samples of the cerebellum cortex from 13 mentally healthy subjects (the control group) and 13 patients with AD were studied. Samples obtained after autopsy were frozen and stored at -80 °C.

[The opinion of mothers brining up disabled children about quality of medical care].

The article presents the results of questionnaire survey of mothers brining up disabled children aged from 1 to 4 years organized to evaluate respondents' satisfaction with delivered medical care and to establish mothers'awareness of disease of child. The results testify that alongside with applied measures directed to improve quality of medical care the activities are needed to be applied to parents to increase their awareness of child health condition, causes of development of disease and characteristics of its course, methods and perspectives of treatment and prognosis of disease.

[The experience of the application of ascorbinic acid as antioxidant after coronary artery surgery with use of cardiopulmonary bypass].

We have studied the role of oxidant stress in development of rhythm disturbances in early postoperative period after coronary artery bypass grafting and possibilities of their prevention with preparations of ascorbinic acid. It was shown that the use of β-adrenoblockers allows to prevent arrhythmia on first day after operation only in 80% of cases. Patients with developed disturbances of cardiac rhythm were characterized by high parameters of lipid peroxidation (LPO) and substantial changes of activity of antioxidant enzyme catalase.

[Effect of local and general vibration on male reproductive health].

The paper gives the results of a study evaluating the degree of androgen deficiency and erectile function in patients with Grades 1 and 2 pneumatic hammer disease arising from exposure to local and general vibration. Their examination involved the evaluation of the clinical picture of the disease, by using various male androgen status questionnaires such as the androgen deficiency questionnaire, the androgen reduction rating scale (after Morley); the androgen deficiency in the aging male questionnaire; a scale for assessment of erectile dysfunction (International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5)); the Beck depression inventory. Exposure to vibration was ascertained to play a role in the development of androgen deficiency and erectile dysfunction in patients with pneumatic hammer disease resulting.

[Processes of scale formation in fish and Agnatha].

The formation of the scale cover in ancient fish and Agnatha was analyzed using paleontology data on some forms and by studying recent species according to the geochronological principle and morphological--genetic coupling approach. The histogenesis of true scale cover was transformed simultaneously but independently from dermal denticles, when the first process was accompanied by reinforcement of the bones and formation of head-body armor and dermal-like external elements of the skullcap. The scale cover is an independent organ system and is characterized by self-supporting conservative ancestral mechanisms of development.

[Glutamine synthetase-like protein, glutamate dehydrogenase, and cytochrome c-oxidase in platelets of patients with the first episode psychosis in the course of treatment].

The authors searched for correlations between amounts of platelet proteins and results of psychometric tests in patients with the first episode psychosis (schizophrenia, schizoaffective psychosis) in the course of their combined antipsychotic treatment with haloperidol and clozapine. Psychometric evaluations (PANSS, BPRS) and analyses of platelet enzymes - glutamine synthetase-like protein (GSLP), glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH), and cytochrome c-oxidase (COX) - were carried out before, during, and after the treatment. These proteins were also analyzed in matched controls.

[Definition of rate of biological aging at vibration disease].

The article presents results of definition of biological aging rate at vibration disease caused by the influence of local and general vibration, at I and II stage of disease; a role of vibrating influence in acceleration of biological aging of people working in the conditions of vibration is underlined.

The authors studied some psychologic state parameters in vibration disease patients. Findings are marked differences in patients, depending on the acting vibration type and the disease stage.

[The health conditions of children being left of parental custody as factor of refusal of admission into the surrogate family].

To investigate the causes of the denial by prospective foster parents to accept orphan children and children without parental custody into their family a special study was organized. The medical inferences of 307 children, inmates of children's homes registered in the data base of Regional of Ivanovskaya oblast and comparative characteristics of their somatic health were analyzed. It is established that among children denied to be accepted by the families prevailed ill-health children and number of diseases per one child was higher.

[Laboratory diagnosis of infected pancreonecrosis].

The results of treatment and examination were analyzed in 175 patients admitted to a clinic for sterile pancreonecrosis (PN). The significance of routinely available (clinical, biochemical, and microbiological) laboratory tests in the diagnosis of purulent complications was analyzed in patients with varying severity of pancreatic autolysis. Complex laboratory monitoring was found to be of importance in predicting and detecting infected PN with obligatory fine-needle punctures under ultrasound guidance and further microscopic studies of puncture specimens.

[Modern evolutional developmental biology: mechanical and molecular genetic or phenotypic approaches?].

Heightened interest in the evolutionary problems of developmental biology in the 1980s was due to the success of molecular genetics and disappointment in the synthetic theory of evolution, where the chapters of embryology and developmental biology seem to have been left out. Modern evo-devo, which turned out to be antipodean to the methodology of the synthetic theory of evolution, propagandized in the development of evolutionary problems only the mechanical and molecular genetic approach to the evolution of ontogenesis, based on cellular and intercellular interactions. The phonotypical approach to the evaluation of evolutionary occurrences in ontogenesis, which aids in the joining of the genetic and epigenetic levels of research, the theory of natural selection, the nomogenetic conception, and the problem of the wholeness of the organism in onto- and phylogenesis may be against this.

[Pecularities of atherosclerosis developed after chlamidial infection and behaviour of some hematological and biochemical parameters].

The aim of our studies was to create diagnostically informative criteria of hematologic and biochemical analyses and their combinations as well as to establish relation between Chlamidia Pneumoniae A and atherosclerosis. This is to be done for the purpose of establishing the entire pathogenesis carotid and coronary atherosclerosis and inflammation. The investigation of Chlamidia Pneumoniae infection in proved to be a possible risk factor for the carotid atherosclerosis developed in adults that makes the course of atherosclerosis heavier.

Use of impaza in the treatment of erectile dysfunction in patients with essential hypertension and CHD.

Impaza treatment of erectile dysfunction in patients with essential hypertension and CHD receiving cardiotropic therapy improved erectile function and increased reserve circulation. Addition of impaza to the treatment protocol in cardiological patients considerably increased perfusion and reduced the content of desquamated epitheliocytes. No side effects of impaza were noted.

[Correlation of some biochemical and coagulological parameters in carotid atherosclerosis].

It has been established positive correlation of the degree of stenosis and intima-media thickness of carotid arteries with the following biochemical parameters: total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo-B, Lp(a), triglycerides, hs-C-reactive protein(CRP), interleukines (IL-1beta and IL-6), fibrinogen, D-dimers. Negative correlation was stated with respect to HDL cholesterol, Apo-A-1, protein C. Relation between the parameters of the blood lipid spectre, proteins and mediators of inflammation as well as those of hemostasis enables us to approach pathophysiological mechanisms of carotid atherosclerosis, define the processes of inflammation and atherosclerosis.

[Morphogenetic approach to the formation of paired limbs in the course of tetrapodization].

Transition from sarcopterygians to tetrapods is analyzed based on new paleontological, ontogenetic, and molecular data. It is shown that transformation of skeletal fin elements into the tetrapod limb followed the patterns of divergent, parallel, and mosaic development. Morphogenetic plasticity and autonomy of these processes as well as the same developmental bauplan for the limbs of Urodela and Anura are proposed.

[The effect of chemotherapy treatment on hemostasis of patients with lung cancer].

Chemotherapy is known to raise the risk of developing thrombotic complications. The aim of our work is to study the system of hemostasis in patients with the lung cancer under chemotherapy treatment. 61 patients were examined (40 men, 21 women) between the ages of 32 and 75 years (the principal group).

[The efficiency of combinations of Enalapril and long-acting Nifedipin and Moxonidine in patients with arterial hypertension and a metabolic syndrome].

The aim of the study was to obtain a comparative evaluation of antihypertensive efficacy, tolerability and influence of combine therapy on myocardium mass, diastolic function of a left ventricle, lipid and carbohydrate exchange in patients with arterial hypertension in metabolic syndrome. Out of 40 examined cases 20 patients took enalapril and long-acting nifedipin and 20 ones--enalapril and moxonidine. All examination were been performed before administration of drugs and 6 months after the therapy.

[Microbial communities of ancient seeds derived from permanently frozen Pleistocene deposits].

Microbial communities from the surface of ancient seeds of higher plants and embedding frozen material dated to the late Pleistocene (formed about 30 thousand years ago) were studied by various methods: scanning electron microscopy, epifluorescence microscopy, and inoculation of nutrient media, followed by identification of isolated cultures. Both prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms were found on the surface of ancient seeds. The total quantity of bacterial cells determined by direct counting and dilution plating (CFU) for the samples of ancient seeds exceeded the value in the embedding frozen material by one to two orders of magnitude.
