Introduction: Folate receptors (FR) have been considered a convenient target for different radiopharmaceuticals in recent years. Multifarious Ga-labeled folate conjugates have been proposed as promising agents for the PET imaging of FR-overexpressing malignant neoplasms. In addition, radiolabeled folate-based conjugates can be effective for imaging non-tumor pathological foci characterized by a pronounced cluster of activated macrophages.

Article Synopsis
  • The rise of filovirus outbreaks in Africa has created an urgent need for effective antiviral treatments.
  • Researchers synthesized and tested various derivatives of two compounds, (+)-fenchol and (-)-isopinocampheol, discovering that those with an N-alkylpiperazine cycle showed the strongest antiviral activity against specific viruses.
  • The antiviral effects of these compounds likely come from their ability to bind to surface glycoproteins of the viruses and their lysosomotropic properties, indicating they could potentially be dual-action agents worth further investigation.

Phage display has become an efficient, reliable and popular molecular technique for generating libraries encompassing millions or even billions of clones of divergent peptides or proteins. The method is based on the correspondence between phage genotype and phenotype, which ensures the presentation of recombinant proteins of known amino acid composition on the surface of phage particles. The use of affinity selection allows one to choose variants with affinity for different targets from phage libraries.

The objective of this work was to determine a relationship between a frequency of DNA fragmentation, a level of antioxidant activity and a preservation of histological structure depending on initial status of fragments of seminiferous tubules of testes (FSTT) of rats at the stages of cryopreservation. FSTT of animals of different ages (immature, mature), as well as animals with changed immunological status (adjuvant arthritis) were cryopreserved. Slow uncontrolled freezing was used in a cryomedium of fibrin gel with 0.

The unexpected contamination of normal samples with tumour cells reduces variant detection sensitivity, compromising downstream analyses in canonical tumour-normal analyses. Leveraging whole-genome sequencing data available at Genomics England, we develop a tool for normal sample contamination assessment, which we validate in silico and against minimal residual disease testing. From a systematic review of [Formula: see text] patients with haematological malignancies and sarcomas, we find contamination across a range of cancer clinical indications and DNA sources, with highest prevalence in saliva samples from acute myeloid leukaemia patients, and sorted CD3+ T-cells from myeloproliferative neoplasms.

Traces of long-term artificial selection can be detected in genomes of domesticated birds via whole-genome screening using single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers. This study thus examined putative genomic regions under selection that are relevant to the development history, divergence and phylogeny among Japanese quails of various breeds and utility types. We sampled 99 birds from eight breeds (11% of the global gene pool) of egg (Japanese, English White, English Black, Tuxedo and Manchurian Golden), meat (Texas White and Pharaoh) and dual-purpose (Estonian) types.

Despite the rapid development and approval of several COVID vaccines based on the full-length spike protein, there is a need for safe, potent, and high-volume vaccines. Considering the predominance of the production of neutralizing antibodies targeting the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of S-protein after natural infection or vaccination, it makes sense to choose RBD as a vaccine immunogen. However, due to its small size, RBD exhibits relatively poor immunogenicity.
