We present a report of a 58-year-old male patient who suffered from Buerger's disease of the upper extremities verified by microscopy and angiography. Despite medical treatment and repeated thoracic sympathectomy he developed gangrene at the tip of his right thumb and index finger. Pedicled omentum was prepared through midline laparatomy, placed through subcostal incision to the subcutaneous space of the forearm and affected fingers.

Two cases of primary small bowel tumors causing an acute intussusception are presented. In one case two polyps were found and in the other case a lipoma in the wall of the jejunum. In both cases there were symptoms of recurrent bowel obstruction for several months before the acute condition.

A 68-year-old male patient with oesophageal cancer was treated by oesophageal resection and the antethoracic reconstruction was made by using the ventricle. The oesophagogastrostoma developed a necrosis and later a 5 cm stricture and a gastrocutaneous fistula. Both the stricture and the fistula were treated by plastic surgery using a reversed pectoralis skin pedicle flap and free skin graft.

In 4 patients, the postpneumonectomy empyema was connected with a large bronchopleural fistula. The empyema was in all cases treated by a permanent open window thoracostoma. The fistulae were closed later with pedicle flaps made of the pectoralis muscle and the adjoining skin.
