Disentangling Sources of Momentum Fluctuations in Xe+Xe and Pb+Pb Collisions with the ATLAS Detector.

High-energy nuclear collisions create a quark-gluon plasma, whose initial condition and subsequent expansion vary from event to event, impacting the distribution of the eventwise average transverse momentum [P([p_{T}])]. Disentangling the contributions from fluctuations in the nuclear overlap size (geometrical component) and other sources at a fixed size (intrinsic component) remains a challenge. This problem is addressed by measuring the mean, variance, and skewness of P([p_{T}]) in ^{208}Pb+^{208}Pb and ^{129}Xe+^{129}Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.

Multimorbidity in patients with atrial fibrillation and community controls: A population-based study.

Background: Multimorbidity is common in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF), yet comorbidity patterns are not well documented.

Methods: The prevalence of 18 chronic conditions (6 cardiometabolic, 7 other somatic, 5 mental health) was obtained in patients with new-onset AF from 2013-2017 from a 27-county region and controls matched 1:1 on age, sex, and county of residence. For AF patients and controls separately, clustering of conditions and co-occurrence beyond chance was estimated (using the asymmetric Somers' D statistic), overall and for ages <65, 65-74, 75-84, and ≥85 years.

Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy Increase the Risk for Myocardial Infarction: A Population-Based Study.

Background: Angiographic evidence of the anatomy of coronary arteries and the type of coronary artery lesions in women with a history of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) are poorly documented.

Objectives: This study sought to determine the role of a history of HDP as a unique risk factor for early coronary artery disease (CAD) and type of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) (ie, atherosclerotic vs myocardial infarction with nonobstructive coronary arteries [MINOCA]) in women who underwent coronary angiography.

Methods: This study used a population-based cohort of parous female patients with incident CAD who underwent coronary angiography and age-matched control subjects.

This Letter presents results from a combination of searches for Higgs boson pair production using 126-140  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13  TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector. At 95% confidence level (CL), the upper limit on the production rate is 2.9 times the standard model (SM) prediction, with an expected limit of 2.

Taxonomic revision of fleshy species of , and (Thelephorales) from Australasia.

Stipitate Thelephorales are basidiomycetous, mostly hydnoid, ectomycorrhizal fungi. Some species have declined considerably, and some are threat-listed as vulnerable or endangered. These ecological concerns require a well-resolved taxonomy to understand diversity in this group of fungi and facilitate conservation.

Electropenetrography with Alternating Current Reveals In Situ Changes of Probing Behaviors Associated with Dengue Virus Infection.

Human infection with dengue virus (DENV) results in significant morbidity and mortality around the world. Current methods to investigate virus-associated changes in insect feeding behaviors are largely restricted to video analysis of feeding events outside of the host or intravital microscopy. Electropenetrography, a method originally developed for plant-feeding insects, offers a promising alternative by allowing high-resolution recording of voltage changes across the insect bite interface.

Indeterminate measurable residual disease by multiparameter flow cytometry is associated with an intermediate risk of clinical relapse in adult patients with acute leukaemia.

Measurable residual disease (MRD) is useful for prognostication and for monitoring response to treatment in patients with acute leukaemia. MRD by multiparametric flow cytometry (MFC-MRD) utilises the leukaemia-associated immunophenotype (LAIP) and difference from normal (DfN) strategies to identify the leukaemic clone. Development of EBV Related Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma in Deficiency of Adenosine Deaminase 2 with Uncontrolled EBV Infection.

Deficiency of Adenosine Deaminase 2 (DADA2) patients presenting with primary immunodeficiency are at risk of uncontrolled EBV infection and secondary malignancies including EBV-related lymphoproliferative disorders (LPD). This paper describes the first case of EBV related diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in a patient with DADA2 and uncontrolled EBV infection. Consideration should be given to monitoring for EBV viraemia and to preventative EBV specific therapy in DADA2 and patients with at risk primary immunodeficiencies.

Proximity to high streets, social isolation and social support in British adolescents: A longitudinal analysis of sociospatial influences on social connectedness using geospatial data.

High streets have been shown to be central to socio-economic activity, given their diverse residential, leisure, and commercial activities. This study explores the link between adolescent social isolation and proximity to, and land use mix in, high streets. Hypothesising that greater distance from high streets might increase social isolation, measured via social activities, friend contact frequency, and social support, we used multilevel modelling with data from the Millennium Cohort Study.

Women With a History of Preeclampsia Exhibit Accelerated Aging and Unfavorable Profiles of Senescence Markers.

Background: Senescence, a mechanism of cellular aging, which is characterized by irreversible proliferation arrest and a proinflammatory secretory phenotype, has been documented in women with preeclampsia. As cellular senescence can persist and progress, we postulated that it is associated with accelerated aging phenotype and accumulation of comorbidities in women with a history of preeclampsia.

Methods: We included a cohort of women with a history of preeclampsia (n=40) age- and parity-matched to a group of referent women with normotensive pregnancies (n=40).

Evaluation of the Baha SoundArc in children.

Objective: The Baha SoundArc coupling system has been developed as a non-surgical coupling of a Baha sound processor to the skull allowing the transfer of vibrational energy to the cochlear partition via bone conduction pathways. Today, there are several alternatives to this non-surgical approach as the Baha headband/test band, or the Baha Softband, or adhesive patches. Each of these current options have benefits and liabilities.

AC-DC Electropenetrography as a Tool to Quantify Probing and Ingestion Behaviors of the Yellow Fever Mosquito () on Mice in Biocontainment.

A detailed understanding of mosquito probing and ingestion behaviors is crucial in developing novel interventions to interrupt the transmission of important human and veterinary pathogens, but these behaviors are difficult to observe as the mouthparts are inserted into the skin of the host. Electropenetrography (EPG) allows indirect observation, recording, and quantification of probing and ingestion behaviors of arthropods by visualizing the electrical waveform associated with these behaviors. The study of mosquito probing and ingestion behaviors has been limited to the use of human hands as host, which is not suitable for pathogen transmission studies.

Monoclonal Gammopathy and Its Association with Progression to Kidney Failure and Mortality in Patients with CKD.

Background: Little is known about the prognostic significance of monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined and renal significance (MGUS and MGRS) in patients with CKD.
