The limitation of the CuAAC "click" reaction with a 2-azidopyridine substrate, owing to its equilibrium with a tetrazole isomer, is exploited herein for its utility in the Glaser-Hay reaction. A catalytic combination of a 2-azidopyridine analogue, 4-azido-5-pyrrolo[3,2-]pyrimidine, and CuI afforded homocoupled products of terminal alkynes, without any trace of triazole product, under mild conditions with a broad substrate scope. Emphasis on carbohydrate-based substrates appended to a propargylic group led to 1,3-diynes in good to excellent yields.

Background: This study evaluated the outcomes of patients with refractory/relapsed Hodgkin lymphoma (RRHL) treated with a bendamustine-based regimen in combination with ifosfamide, etoposide, and vinorelbine (VIBE).

Methods: Consecutive RRHL patients who were treated with the VIBE regimen were identified and studied for clinicopathologic characteristics, response to VIBE regimen, event-free survival (EFS), and feasibility of an autologous stem-cell transplant (autoSCT).

Results: In total, 24 patients received the VIBE regimen, and a median of 3 cycles were administered.

An exotic condensation of DNA molecules is observed on the nanostructured ZnO surface. The ZnO nanostructures (NS) fabricated by thermal vapor deposition technique were associated with a large number of oxygen vacancies on the surface. These oxygen vacancies induced changes in the DNA conformation which further reflected through changes in the persistence length of the DNA molecules.

This study aimed to identify the anterior segment high-resolution optical coherence tomography (HR-OCT) and HR-OCT angiography (HR-OCTA) features suggestive of limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD) as confirmed by both impression cytology (IC) and in vivo confocal microscopy (IVCM). This was a single-centre prospective cross-sectional study including 24 eyes of 22 patients with clinical suspicion of LSCD based on peripheral superficial corneal vascularisation and scarring.
