The diagnostic work-up of cancer of unknown primary (CUP) is a challenging task; in addition, only a little data on BRAF targeting in CUP are currently available. Traditionally, the identification of favourable and unfavourable CUP subsets directs the choice of treatment. The present article reports the case of a 50-year-old male patient presenting with a BRAF-mutated CUP, a rare and generally unfavourable subset.

Unfortunately, the plant is (and most likely was) insect-pollinated and produces relatively few pollen grains per flower, contributing to its apparent absence in the paleopalynological record. Here, we present fossil pollen from the Eocene of Germany (Europe) and Kenya (Africa), representing the first reliable pre-Pleistocene pollen records of this genus worldwide and the only fossils of this family discovered so far in Africa.

Nevertheless, the application of ozonation is hindered by its high energy requirements and by the uncertainties regarding the formation of toxic transformation products in the process. Energy requirements of ozonation can be reduced with a pre-ozone treatment, such as a biological activated carbon (BAC) filter, that removes part of the effluent organic matter before ozonation.

Well-differentiated Grade 1 (G1) small intestinal NENs are often characterized by a slow progression rate and a good prognosis. Peritoneal carcinomatosis of a G1 digestive NEN is not a very common finding, and thus there is little published evidence regarding its progression and management.
