Analyzing the effectivity of evidence-based practice in health science higher education: a narrative review.

Background: Although multiple strategies have been suggested for evidence-based practice educational interventions, few studies have focused on the development of abilities for evidence-based practice implementation.

Objective: To explore the effectiveness of evidence-based practice in higher education and understand its teaching methods.

Design And Setting: Narrative review was conducted at the Universidade Municipal de São Caetano do Sul, Brazil.

Accuracy of nursing diagnoses identified at admission and discharge of patients with decompensated heart failure.

Purpose: To determine the accuracy of nursing diagnoses at hospital admission and discharge for patients with heart failure (HF).

Methods: This comparative study examined the documentation in 155 medical records of patients with an admitting diagnosis of HF during August 2018 and July 2019. An audit tool was used to record the diagnoses made by nurses during routine care at the time of admission and discharge.

Gas sensors play a vital role in detecting gases in the air, converting their concentrations into electrical signals for industrial, environmental, and safety applications. This study used density functional theory methods to explore the mechanism and sensitivity of a PdO-graphene composite sensor towards various gases (CO, NO, NO, HS, and Cl). All calculations, including structure, energy, and frequency optimizations, were performed using the Gaussian software with appropriate configurations and basis sets.

Essential and edible oils have applications in reducing oxidative processes and inhibiting the growth of microorganisms in meats and their derivatives, providing a natural alternative to synthetic preservatives. This preservative action meets the demand for clean labels and safe products, aiming to replace synthetic additives that pose potential health risks. Advances and limitations in applying essential and edible oils in meat preservation, highlighting their preservative properties or ability to improve nutritional profiles, are explored in this study.
