AMPK's role in tumor initiation and progression is controversial. Here, we provide genetic evidence that AMPK is required for metastasis in mouse models of breast cancer. In a mouse model of spontaneous breast cancer metastasis, the deletion of AMPK before and after tumor onset decreased breast cancer metastasis, and similar results were obtained after AMPK deletion in breast cancer cell lines.

Background: Seipin is a protein encoded by the BSCL2 gene in humans and SEI1 gene in yeast, forming an Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER)-bound homo-oligomer. This oligomer is crucial in targeting ER-lipid droplet (LD) contact sites, facilitating the delivery of triacylglycerol (TG) to nascent LDs. Mutations in BSCL2, particularly N88S and S90L, lead to seipinopathies, which correspond to a cohort of motor neuron diseases (MNDs) characterized by the accumulation of misfolded N88S seipin into inclusion bodies (IBs) and cellular dysfunctions.

Spintor® (SPIT®) is a commercial formulation of a bioinsecticide with the active ingredient Spinosad (SPIN). Despite the efforts of regulatory agencies, there still is a lack of information regarding short- and long-term exposures to soil-dwellers, as well as effects at environmentally relevant concentrations. This work aimed to evaluate the effects of SPIT® and SPIN, on the oligochaete Eisenia fetida, and the arthropod Folsomia candida.

Objective: The aim of this study was to estimate the budget impact of adding cabergoline to the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) formulary for the treatment of patients with Cushing's disease (CD) who do not achieve disease control after transsphenoidal surgery.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a budget impact analysis (BIA) from the perspective of the Brazilian SUS over a 5-year time horizon. We compared two scenarios: ketoconazole (Scenario 1) versus including cabergoline as a treatment option (Scenario 2).
