Association of Glycemic Index, Glycemic Load, and Carbohydrate Intake with Antral Follicle Counts Among Subfertile Females.

Background/objectives: Few studies have investigated the association of dietary glycemic index (GI), glycemic load (GL), and carbohydrate intake with antral follicle count (AFC). This study aimed to investigate the association of total carbohydrate intake and carbohydrate quality, measured by dietary GI and GL, with ovarian reserve assessed by AFC.

Methods: This study included 653 females from the Environment And Reproductive Health Study who completed AFC and food frequency questionnaire.

The prevalence of abnormal semen parameters in male partners of women with anovulatory polycystic ovarian syndrome: a retrospective case-control study.

Purpose: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the leading cause of anovulatory infertility, often requiring ovarian stimulation in affected women attempting to conceive. Male partner semen quality and shared lifestyle factors can significantly impact reproductive outcomes. However, current international guidelines lack evidence-based recommendations on the necessity and timing of semen analysis for the fertility management of anovulatory PCOS women.

Isotope dilution with isotopically labeled biomass: An effective alternative for quantitative metabolomics.

Background: State-of-the-art quantitative metabolomics relies on isotope dilution using internal standards (IS) derived from fully C labeled biomass. By spiking samples and external standards with known amounts of IS, the spike characterization demands are kept to a minimum. In fact, it is sufficient to experimentally assess the isotopic enrichment of the IS.

Trophectoderm grade as a predictor of beta human-chorionic gonadotropin rise in early pregnancy.

Purpose: To evaluate the association, if any, between the grade of the trophectoderm (TE) and the rate at which β-human-chorionic gonadotropin (β-HCG) rises in early pregnancy.

Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study including 1116 singleton clinical pregnancies resulting from in vitro fertilization with single day 5 blastocyst transfer at an academic fertility center. TE quality was assessed by trained embryologists employing standard criteria.
