Crocodylomorphs have colonized various environments from fully terrestrial to fully aquatic, making it an important clade among archosaurs. A remarkable example of the rich past diversity of Crocodylomorpha Hay, 1930 is the marine colonization undergone by several crocodylomorph lineages, particularly Thalattosuchia Fraas, 1901 during the Early Jurassic-Early Cretaceous, and Dyrosauridae de Stefano, 1903 during the Late Cretaceous-Early Eocene. Thalattosuchia represents the most impressive and singular marine radiation among Crocodylomorpha, occupying various ecological niches, before enigmatically disappearing in the Cretaceous.

In Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE), students have to demonstrate proficiency in a wide array of medical knowledge and different skills, ranging from physical examinations to medical-practical skills and doctor-patient interactions. In this study, we empirically test the concept 'assessment drives learning' and investigate whether an OSCE motivates extracurricular, voluntary free practice (FP) of specific skills in a Skills Lab, and whether this has positive treatment effects on exam success in the respective parts of the OSCE. To explore causal inference with observational data, we used Propensity Score Matching (PSM) to generate a control and a treatment group that only differed in their practice behavior.

ATAC-seq has emerged as a rich epigenome profiling technique, and is commonly used to identify Transcription Factors (TFs) underlying given phenomena. A number of methods can be used to identify differentially-active TFs through the accessibility of their DNA-binding motif, however little is known on the best approaches for doing so. Here we benchmark several such methods using a combination of curated datasets with various forms of short-term perturbations on known TFs, as well as semi-simulations.
