Intramuscular (250 mg once weekly) or subcutaneous (275 mg once weekly) injections of 17-hydroxyprogesterone caproate (17-OHPC) has been utilised to prevent recurent spontaneous preterm birth in pregnant women with a short cervix or those with a prior preterm birth but its efficacy in these conditions has been questioned. It is unclear whether adequate concentrations of 17-OHPC reach the suspected target organs such as the cervix and uterus following either IM or SC administration. The objective of this study was to determine feasibility and safety of vaginal administration of 17-OHPC in adult female Sprague Dawley rats and female New Zealand rabbits.

Background: As lateral lumbar interbody fusions (LLIF) are increasingly performed, our understanding of postoperative clinical trajectories is important in informing preoperative patient expectations. While minimum clinically important difference (MCID) rates are widely utilized in spine surgery literature, there is less published on how long it takes for patients to achieve MCID following LLIF.

Objective: To evaluate the length of time it takes for patients to report MCID achievement for back pain, leg pain, disability, and physical function and evaluate predictors of time to achieve MCID.

Introduction: Cancer-associated cachexia (CC) is a progressive syndrome characterized by unintentional weight loss, muscle atrophy, fatigue, and poor outcomes that affects most patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The ability to identify and classify CC stage along its continuum early in the disease process is challenging but critical for management.

Objectives: The main objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of CC stage overall and by sex and race and ethnicity among treatment-naïve PDAC cases using clinical, nutritional, and functional criteria.

Noise is a ubiquitous component of motor systems that leads to behavioral variability of all types of movements. Nonetheless, systems-based models investigating human movements are generally deterministic and explain only the central tendencies like mean trajectories. In this paper, a novel approach to modeling kinematic variability of movements is presented and tested on the oculomotor system.
