Correction of Disorders in Psychoneurological Status and Functioning of Progenitor Cells of the Nervous Tissue with NF-κB Inhibitor under Conditions of Alzheimer's Disease Modeling.

We studied the effect of NF-κB blockade on the state of various pools of progenitor cells of the nervous tissue and the psychoneurological status of experimental animals with modeled Alzheimer's disease. Administration of scopolamine hydrobromide to C57BL/6 mice for 4 weeks was accompanied by the development of "persistent" disturbances in the orientation and exploratory behavior and mnestic function. An ameliorating effect of the NF-κB inhibitor on these cognitive disorders typical of senile dementia was revealed.

Basics of the reaction kinetics on metallic alloys.

Kinetics of heterogeneous catalytic reactions are often complicated by various factors, and from the perspective of statistical physics the development of the corresponding models is frequently challenging especially in the case of practically important alloy catalysts. To extend the basics in this area, I use a generic kinetic model of N_{2} formation in the NO reaction with such species as CO or H_{2}. The focus is on the reaction on the surface of a bimetallic alloy with low integral fraction of one of the metals so that the alloy is formed only at the surface.

Comparative Study of the Anxiolytic Activity of Songorine in Elevated Plus Maze Test and by Recording Ultrasonic Vocalizations.

It was found that the diterpene alkaloid songorine administered per os to mice at a dose of 25 μg/kg provides a pronounced anxiolytic effect during elevated plus maze testing comparable to the effect of the benzodiazepine anxiolytic phenazepam. Recording of ultrasonic vocalizations of animals revealed an increase in the number of short high-frequency (50 kHz) signals under the action of songorine and the reference drug, which confirms their anti-anxiety properties.
