Purpose: To evaluate the short-term results of water vapor therapy (Rezūm) for BPH/LUTS in the first cohort of Czech patients.
Materials And Methods: Patients with BPH and moderate to severe LUTS (N = 76) who underwent Rezūm treatment from December 2019 to July 2020 were included in the prospective study. Prior to the procedure, they completed the IPSS and OABv8 questionnaires and underwent uroflowmetry, transrectal ultrasound of the prostate, and PSA sampling.
Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness and safety of convective radiofrequency (RF) water vapor thermal therapy in men with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH); a pilot study design with 2-year follow-up evaluations.
Patients And Methods: Men aged ≥45 years with an International Prostate Symptom Score ≥13, a maximum urinary flow rate (Q) ≤15 mL/s, and prostate volume 20-120 cc were enrolled in a prospective, open-label pilot study using convective RF water vapor energy with the Rezūm System. Patients were followed up for 2 years after transurethral thermal treatment at 3 international centers in the Dominican Republic, Czech Republic, and Sweden.
The effects of sarcosine on the processes driving prostate cancer (PCa) development remain still unclear. Herein, we show that a supplementation of metastatic PCa cells (androgen independent PC-3 and androgen dependent LNCaP) with sarcosine stimulates cells proliferation in vitro. Similar stimulatory effects were observed also in PCa murine xenografts, in which sarcosine treatment induced a tumor growth and significantly reduced weight of treated mice (p < 0.

Methods: Prospective study of 21 consecutive cases with proliferative diabetic retinopathy complicated by vascularized epiretinal membrane forming tractional retinal detachment that underwent pars plana vitrectomy 4 days after intravitreal injection of aflibercept. After removal, the epiretinal membranes were taken for histologic examination using light microscopy.
Objective: To assess 1-year efficacy and safety data from pilot trials of the Rezūm System water vapor to treat lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Materials And Methods: A total of 65 men with symptoms of moderate to severe BPH were enrolled in pilot studies at centers in the Dominican Republic, the Czech Republic, and Sweden. Each patient was treated with transurethral delivery of sterile water vapor (steam).
