Article Synopsis
  • * Results showed stable health markers (LDH, hemoglobin, reticulocytes) throughout the study, with no significant differences in kidney disease rates or need for blood transfusions among patients.
  • * The findings indicate that the biosimilar is both effective and safe for long-term use in PNH patients, with only a low incidence of adverse reactions reported.

ErdheimChester disease (ECD) is a rare non-Langerhans histiocytosis with multisystem inflammatory infiltrates consistent of monocytes/macrophages, reactive microenvironment and fibrotic fields. Cardiovascular involvement is one of the most frequent manifestations of ECD that can lead to life threating complications. In this article we are reporting a clinical case of ECD with cardiac involvement in a young patient.

Strain is known to enhance the activity of the oxygen reduction reaction in catalytic platinum alloy nanoparticles, whose inactivity is the primary impediment to efficient fuel cells and metal-air batteries. Bragg coherent diffraction imaging (BCDI) was employed to reveal the strain evolution during the voltammetric cycling in Pt-Ni alloy nanoparticles composed of PtNi, PtNi, and PtNi. Analysis of the 3D strain images using a core-shell model shows that the strain as large as 5% is induced on Pt-rich shells due to Ni dissolution.

Here, we demonstrate the impact of ferromagnetic layer coating on controlling the magneto-optical response. We found that the transverse magneto-optical Kerr effect (TMOKE) signal and TMOKE hysteresis loops of NiFe thin layers coated with a Cr layer show a strong dependence on the thickness of the Cr layer and the incidence angle of the light. The transmission and reflection spectra were measured over a range of incidence angles and with different wavelengths so as to determine the layers' optical parameters and to explain the TMOKE behavior.

Prostatic adenoma gives rise to urodynamic disorders, affects not only sexual function and quality of men's life but also, indirectly, women's health. We have developed indications for concervative treatment of prostatic adenoma with transurethral radiowave hyperthermia (TRH). It was found that TRH has a positive early effect on a general somatic condition and prostatic function.
