For the first time in Russia, the intraspecific structure of the brown rat Rattus norvegicus was studied using the mitochondrial control region (D-loop) as a molecular marker. The mtDNA sequence was determined in brown rats from eight regions of European and Asian Russia. Three rat clades were identified, including one in European Russia and two in Asian Russia.

Article Synopsis
  • A new method has been created for synthesizing both symmetric and asymmetric fused spiro[4.4]-nonane-dione derivatives.
  • It involves a Diels-Alder reaction using spiro[4.4]nona-2,7-diene-1,6-dione as the dienophile, and the adduct undergoes immediate aromatization.
  • Various systems, such as tetrabromoxylene/NaI, 1,3-diphenylisobenzofuran/BF, or substituted cyclones, can generate an active diene component for the reaction.

The biologically active compound 3-aminopropylsilatrane (a compound with a pentacoordinated silicon atom) underwent an aza-Michael reaction with various acrylates and other Michael acceptors. Depending on the molar ratio, the reaction yielded Michael mono- or diadducts (11 examples) containing functional groups (silatranyl, carbonyl, nitrile, amino, etc.).
