Most protocols to cryopreserve ovarian tissue utilize the permeable cryoprotective agents (CPAs) in 1.5 M concentration. However the issues related to the ability to use higher concentrations of CPAs have remained open.

It was shown that after 2 hours of ischemia at 37 °C the morphological transformation of the structural components of the ovarian tissue were reversible. In case of restoration of blood flow conditions by heterotopic transplantation estradiol level of animals was 25,9 ± 5,18 pg/ml, progesterone--18,48 ± 3,69 ng/ml, significantly higher than the castrated animals-recipients.

It was found that adhesion index of cells on the studied matrices was similar, but cell morphology had significant qualitative differences. Round non-flattened cells were described in endothelial cell cultures on chitosan-based matrices.

We examined the dynamics of folliculogenesis in ovarian tissue allograft and its endocrine function in an organism of castrated recipient rats during 100 days. Growth and development of ovarian tissue and its steroidogenic function in heterotopic transplantation were determined by its initial morphological organization. Allotransplantation of mature ovarian tissue was found to cause preservation of its morphological structure, whereas the transplantation of neonatal ovarian tissue caused formation of follicular cysts.
