The results of spectrozonal roentgenographic study performed using a digital scanning fluorograph are presented. It is shown that organic inclusions visible in X-ray photographs made in different spectral ranges can be differentiated by the effective atomic number.

A method is described for determining the efficient atomic number of inclusion-tissue substance, visualized in image, by the characteristic angle estimated by means of spectronazal X-ray detector. Described are study results of the influence of inclusion's geometric dimensions and of the whole radiation filtration exerted on the value of characteristic angles for different substances. The experimental values of effective atomic numbers are shown to fit well, within the range limited by radiation contrast, the theoretical ones.

A method is described in the paper that is designed to assess the values of the dynamic range of digital X-Ray diagnostic systems operating in the counting mode. The dynamic range is shown to be determined from the bottom by static limitations of the image quality, while from the top it is determined by system's counting errors caused by the terminal temporal resolution.
