MicroRNA whose expression depends on the receptor status of breast cancer were selected using bioinformatic analysis. The expression of 9 microRNAs (16, 17, 21, 27, 125, 146, 155, 200a, and 221) was analyzed in 76 samples of breast cancer with various receptor phenotypes. The expression of microRNAs 155, 27, and 200a did not differ in various types of breast cancer.

Possible application is studied for fluorescence spectroscopy in the express-evaluation of the gastrointestinal microflora. This diagnostic approach is feasible because of the difference in fluorescent spectra from different microorganisms, with anaerobic microorganisms exhibiting the most pronounced fluorescence. It was found that fluorescence strength raised with an increase in the bacteria Bacteroides and bifid bacteria, whereas it decreased with an increase in Escherichia coli.

Vasilii Ivanovich Shestov during the Great Patriotic War performed various tasks concerning the organization of medical support in the Leningrad naval base, consulted on an issue of production and use of hospital and medical transport ships, worked on the organization of medical support in Schliessburg and etc. Shestov performed a considerable amount of research and methodological works concerning the establishment of the discipline "Organisation of naval medical support". He is considered as one of the founders of the theory of naval medical evacuation support.
