The combination of Florida sleeve and Ozaki procedures for aortic root repair.

It is generally accepted that the definitive treatment for irreparable aortic root disease is aortic root replacement with a valved conduit - the Bentall procedure. However, we try to follow a reparative strategy for all aortic root pathology whenever possible. Our "root-sparing" philosophy is achieved by restoration of physiological aortic root dimensions by the Florida sleeve technique and aortic cusp substitution by neocuspidization.

[Long-Term Survival of Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease After Surgical Correction of Moderate Ischemic Mitral Regurgitation].

Aim: to assess effect of correction of moderate ischemic mitral regurgitation (IMR) in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy (IMC) in immediate and remote period.

Materials And Methods: We included in a single center prospective study 76 patients with IMC, left ventricular ejection fraction ≤35 %, and moderate IMR. Patients with indications to postinfarction aneurism repair were not included.

[Vacuum-therapy of postoperative sternomediastinitis].

Aim: To estimate the results of sternomediastinitis management using vacuum-therapy compared with conventional treatment of such wounds.

Material And Methods: We have retrospectively analyzed data for the period from January 2007 to October 2014. The study enrolled 79 patients with infectious complication after cardiac surgery.

[Treatment of a patient with a ruptured infectious aneurysm of the aortic arch].

Described in the article is a clinical case report concerning surgical treatment of a 65-year-old male patient presenting with a ruptured infectious aortic arch aneurysm. He was subjected to an operation consisting in prosthetic repair of the ascending portion of the aorta and aortic arch with a homograft under conditions of artificial circulation, deep hypothermia, and antegrade cerebral perfusion.

Results of coronary artery bypass grafting alone and combined with surgical ventricular reconstruction for ischemic heart failure.

In this study, we included 236 patients with ischemic heart failure and ejection fraction (EF) <35% who underwent surgical treatment. Patients were randomized in two groups. There were 116 patients who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) with surgical ventricular reconstruction (SVR) and 120 patients who underwent CABG alone.
