Recurrent neurogenic shock as a rare postoperative complication associated with pancreaticoduodenectomy with mesopancreas excision in elderly patient: a case report.

Background: Surgical resection of locally advanced or borderline pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is a recognized procedure with curative intent performed in specialized oncology centers. Postoperative dysautonomia such as gastroparesis, mild hypotension, and diarrhea are common in elderly patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy. A distinctive feature of our case, is the severing of an important sympathetic chain by the surgical procedure, leading to recurrent severe neurogenic shock.

Precision oncology implementation in a regional-based health care system: A professional consensus to define the pathway.

Objective: Precision Oncology requires deep changes in organizational settings but little evidence has been identified about the best strategy to guarantee the delivery of this innovation to patients. In the Italian health care system, high heterogeneity could jeopardize equal access opportunity for patients. Following a consensus method, we aim to define shared solutions to address these issues in clinical practice.

Five-year efficacy outcomes of ocrelizumab in relapsing multiple sclerosis: A propensity-matched comparison of the OPERA studies with other disease-modifying therapies in real-world lines of treatments.

Background: Clinical trials comparing the efficacy of ocrelizumab (OCR) with other disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) other than interferon (IFN) β-1a in relapsing multiple sclerosis (RMS) are lacking.

Objectives: To compare the treatment effect of OCR vs six DMTs' (IFN β-1a, glatiramer acetate, fingolimod, dimethyl fumarate, teriflunomide, natalizumab) treatment pathways used in clinical practice by combining clinical trial and real-world data.

Methods: Patient-level data from OPERA trials and open-label extension phase, and from the German NeuroTransData (NTD) MS registry, were used to build 1:1 propensity score-matched (PSM) cohorts controlling for seven baseline covariates, including brain imaging activity.

Multidisciplinary management of immunotherapy-related adverse events in solid tumors: An inter-institutional and telemedicine-based working team.

Background: Although immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) show a more favorable toxicity profile than classical cytotoxic drugs, their mechanism of action is responsible for peculiar new toxicities. There is an urgent need for a multidisciplinary approach to advice on how to manage organ-specific toxicities.

Methods: Our project aims to integrate the practices of two different hospitals into a single Italian regional collaborative model to treat immune-related adverse events (irAEs).

Therapeutic patterns and migraine disease burden in switchers of CGRP-targeted monoclonal antibodies - insights from the German NeuroTransData registry.

Background: Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) targeting the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) pathway have shown good efficacy in migraine prophylaxis. However, a subset of patients does not respond to the first mAb treatment and switches among the available mAbs. The goal of this study is to characterize the switching pattern of migraine patients treated with anti-CGRP(-receptor, -R) mAbs, and to describe the headache burden of those who did not switch, switched once, and switched twice.
