Laparoscopic Repair of Larrey Hernia: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Morgagni-Larrey hernia is a rare pathology resulting from an anterior diaphragmatic defect. Diagnosis is often made in adulthood due to the lack of symptoms associated with this condition. Various surgical techniques have been reported for its treatment, but no standard approach has been established due to its rarity.

Preying dangerously: black widow spider venom resistance in sympatric lizards.

Lizards and spiders are natural adversaries, yet little is known of adaptations that lizards might possess for dealing with the venomous defences of spider prey. In the Western USA, two lizard species ( and ) are sympatric with and predate western black widow spiders (). The consequences of black widow spider venom (BWSV) can be severe, and are well understood for mammals but unknown for reptiles.

Diagnosis and treatment of pudendal and inferior cluneal nerve entrapment syndrome: a narrative review.

Aim: Pudendal and inferior cluneal nerve entrapment can cause a neuropathic pain syndrome in the sensitive areas innervated by these nerves. Diagnosis is challenging and patients often suffer several years before diagnosis is made. The purpose of the review was to inform healthcare workers about this disease and to provide a basis of anatomy and physiopathology, to inform about diagnostic tools and invasive or non-invasive treatment modalities and outcome.

Acute appendicitis and pregnancy: diagnostic performance of magnetic resonance imaging.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis in pregnant women.

Methods: The study was conducted in 2 referral centers in Brussels, Belgium, between March 1st 2009 and January 31st 2017. Pregnant women who presented with abdominal pain and underwent MRI were included.

The Geographic Mosaic Theory of Coevolution predicts that coevolutionary arms races will vary over time and space because of the diverse ecological settings and population histories of interacting species across the landscape. Thus, understanding coevolution may require investigating broad sets of populations sampled across the range of the interaction. In addition, comparing coevolutionary dynamics between similar systems may reveal the importance of specific factors that structure coevolution.
