Forme fruste keratoconus detection with OCT corneal topography using artificial intelligence algorithms.

Purpose: To differentiate a normal cornea from a forme fruste keratoconus (FFKC) with the swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) topography CASIA 2 using machine learning artificial intelligence algorithms.

Setting: Monocentric, performed in CHU Bordeaux, Bordeaux, France.

Design: Retrospective case-control.

Conventional Epithelial-Off Corneal Crosslinking in Patients With Progressive Keratoconus: 10-Year Outcomes.

Purpose: Corneal crosslinking (CXL) is the standard treatment of progressive keratoconus (KC). We evaluated the safety and 10-year outcomes of conventional "epithelial-off" CXL for progressive KC for the first time in a cohort in France.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective review of patients undergoing conventional CXL (Dresden protocol) in our tertiary ophthalmology department from 2006 to 2011 with 10-year follow-up.

Electrochemical assay of mammalian cell viability.

We present the first use of amperometric detection to assess the viability of mammalian cells in continuous mode, directly in the cell culture medium. Vero or HeLa cells were injected into electrochemical sensors equipped with a 3-electrode system and containing DCIP 50 µM used as the redox mediator. DCIP was reduced by the viable cells and the reduced form was detected amperometrically at 300 mV vs silver pseudo-reference.

Ocular sequelae of epidermal necrolysis: French national audit of practices, literature review and proposed management.

Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are serious and rare diseases, most often drug-induced, and their incidence has been estimated at 6 cases/million/year in France. SJS and TEN belong to the same spectrum of disease known as epidermal necrolysis (EN). They are characterized by more or less extensive epidermal detachment, associated with mucous membrane involvement, and may be complicated during the acute phase by fatal multiorgan failure.
