A Review on Risk Factors, Traditional Diagnostic Techniques, and Biomarkers for Pneumonia Prognostication and Management in Diabetic Patients.

People of all ages can contract pneumonia, and it can cause mild to severe disease and even death. In addition to being a major cause of death for elderly people and those with prior medical conditions such as diabetes, it isthe world's biggest infectious cause of death for children. Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic condition with a high glucose level and is a leading cause of lower limb amputation, heart attacks, strokes, blindness, and renal failure.

Biological evaluation of trans-2,3-dihydrofuro[3,2-c]coumarins as potential cathepsin inhibitors and anticancer agents.

Novel trans-2,3-dihydrofuro[3,2-c]coumarins were synthesized and assessed for their inhibition potential against cysteine proteases: cathepsin B, H and L which are the possible targets for anticancer activity. In general, the coumarin derivatives were found to be exceptional inhibitors against this class of enzymes. On the basis of molecular modeling data and structure-activity relationships, their inhibition patterns are also discussed.

In Vitro Screening of Bacterial Isolates From Dairy Products for Probiotic Properties and Other Health-Promoting Attributes.

The present research was aimed to isolate potential probiotic organisms from dairy products locally made in and around the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. A total of 224 colonies were screened for primary attributes. Based on the results, 70 isolates were carried further for secondary screening.

Micronutrient status and associated factors of anemia among undernourished children of 5-18 years: First study from Himalayan foothills.

Purpose: Undernutrition in children is a critical worldwide concern that hampers both their physical and cognitive growth. The nutritional status of school-going children and adolescents remains insufficiently addressed with no comprehensive data. This is the first study from the Himalayan foothills that aims to assess the clinical and laboratory aspects of anemia with micronutrient status in undernourished children above the age of five along with association of clinical features with anemia severity.
