The level of evidence of expert recommendations for starting extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR) in refractory out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) and in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) is low. Therefore, we reported our experience in the field to identify factors associated with hospital mortality. Methods: In 33 anesthetized patients scheduled for cardiac surgery, ShearWave imaging was acquired epicardially using a dedicated ultrasound machine on the left ventricle parallel to the left anterior descending coronary artery in a loaded heart following the last cardiac beat.
