[A hygienic and ergonomic assessment of the work sites of operators at computer video terminals].

Furniture and equipment at working places fitted up with video display terminals were found out to fail to meet ergonomic requirements, which fact aggravates effects of certain factors of the labour process, local-dynamic and static muscular loads in particular. The workplace ergonomic characteristics-related signs of fatigue appearing in the mid-work shift were noted. Data were obtained on formation of pathologies related to hygienic and ergonomic characteristics of work places.

[The conditions of industrial lighting and the state of the visual work capacity of operators working with video terminals].

Operators constantly working with video display computer terminals present significant changes in visual efficiency as evidenced by unstable dynamics of professionally meaningful functions and augmentation of excitatory process in cortical portion of the visual analyzer. The examinees' complaints and decrement in working efficiency in the second half of the work shift suggest generalization of the process. Strain in the visual analyzer performance is referrable to high intensity and strain in work, as well as to irrational lighting and unfavourable conditions for visual work.
