Adrenal gland incidentaloma (incidental - sudden, accidental) is a mass of the adrenal gland(s), accidentally detected by an instru-mental examination conducted for other reasons. The frequency of detection of this pathology based on computer tomography of the abdominal organs is 0.5%-2%.

A rare case of intrathymic epidermoid cyst.

Thymic cysts are a rare abnormality accounting for 1%-3% of all mediastinal masses. In most cases, they are asymptomatic and localized in the anterior mediastinum. Despite their benign nature, the presence of a mass is an indication for surgery to obtain a histological conclusion and reliably exclude an oncological process.

[Etiological structure of influenza and other ARVI in St. Petersburg during epidemic seasons 2012-2016.].

The etiological structure of influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections including their rate of incidence in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region during 4 epidemic seasons has been studied. Seasonality of some respiratory viruses was shown and peaks of circulation of RSV, adenovirus, parainfluenza viruses, rhinovirus, bocavirus, metapneumovirus and coronavirus were marked.

GENETIC AND ANTIGENIC CHARACTERISTICS OF RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS STRAINS ISOLATED IN ST. PETERSBURG IN 2013-2016.

Antigenic and genetic characteristics of Russian RSV isolates are presented for the first time. Of the 69 strains isolated in St. Petersburg, 93% belonged to the RSV-A antigenic group.

[The immunity during the pre-clinical period of type I diabetes mellitus].

The purpose of the study was to investigate the condition of immunity (blood lymphocyte immune phenotype and ultrastructure) in healthy children with a family background of type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM 1) having or not having diabetes-associated autoantibodies (DAAB). The subjects of the study were divided into three groups. Group 1 consisted of 90 children with a family background of DM 1 (first line relatives had DM 1), DAAB- (GADA, IA-2A, and IAA) positive or negative; group 2 consisted of 51 children with newly revealed DM 1; group 3 included 45 healthy controls, normoglycemic DAAB-negative children with no family background of DM 1.
