Preliminary Report of a True NasoMaxillary Infantile Fibrosarcoma: Single-Modality Management and 2-Year Follow-Up.

Infantile fibrosarcoma (IFS) is a malignant tumor, commonly presenting in long bones and seldom encountered after 2 years of age. It is extremely rare in the faciomaxillary region. The condition is often mistaken for teratomas, and histopathology/immunohistochemistry is confirmatory.

Polyvinyl siloxane: novel material for external nasal splinting.

External nasal splinting is performed routinely after nasal bone fracture reductions, osteotomies, and rhinoplasties. Materials commonly used include plaster of Paris (POP), thermoplastic splints, self-adhesive padded aluminium splints, and Orthoplast, among many others. The disadvantages of these materials are described in this paper, and polyvinyl siloxane is recommended as an effective and more readily available alternative material to counter these pitfalls.

Objective: To explore the influence of pocket money on Dental Caries and Body Mass Index.

Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted wherein urban adolescent schoolchildren of age 13-18(n=916) were selected by two stage random sampling technique. Dental caries was measured using the DMFT Index.

Unusual dens evaginatus on maxillary premolars: a case report.

Dens evaginatus is a developmental anomaly that can be defined as a tubercle from the surface of an affected tooth. It is composed of enamel and dentin usually enclosing pulp tissue. It is a rare dental anomaly commonly seen on premolars.

First dental visit of a child.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess the common chief complaints of the Indian children and the average age group at which they report for in their first dental visit.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective study was carried out using the case records of 716 children who reported to the postgraduate section of Department of Pediatric dentistry, Meenakshi Ammal Dental College, Chennai, in 2007. The age groups of the children were divided into three categories 0-3 years, 3-6 years and 6-12 years.
