The adaptor protein regulator for ubiquitous kinase/c-Cbl-interacting protein of 85kDa (Ruk/CIN85) was found to modulate HER1/EGFR signaling and processes like cell adhesion and apoptosis. Although these features imply a role in carcinogenesis, it is so far unknown how and by which molecular mechanisms Ruk/CIN85 could affect a certain tumor phenotype. By analyzing samples from breast cancer patients, we found high levels of Ruk(l)/CIN85 especially in lymph node metastases from patients with invasive breast adenocarcinomas, suggesting that Ruk(l)/CIN85 contributes to malignancy.

For the cancer of the larynx, pharyngolaryngeal cancer, cancer of the mouth and oropharyngeal cancer next factors have influence for the treatment planning: spreding of the tumor, presence of the regional and distant metastasis and general state of the patient.
Aim Of The Work: surgery approaches for the treatment of the regional metastasis for above mentioned tumors are determined.
A comparative analysis of several systems of the assessment of the degree of spreading of malignant process is presented in the article. Stage principles of malignant neoplasms, which are used by the National Cancer Register do not respond current requirements as these principles do not single out preinvasive carcinoma and even more patients with I and II stages malignant neoplasms are brought into one group. Last reduction of the International TNM breast cancer classification (2002, TNM-6) reflects further progress in understanding biology of this localization and possibilities of the diagnostics.

The control group has been operated using classical mastectomy after Golsted and its modified variant named after Peity. The degree of the disease dissemination was confirmed pathohistologicaly based on the 5-th edition of TNM system.

The data on the immediate results of surgery were assessed in 168 patients. Suture of a skin flap to the thoracic wall closed a gap in axillary area while ultrasound monitoring of the wound and aspiration of fluid made keeping track of postoperative recovery possible.
