Biofortification of staple food crops with zinc (Zn) is considered a sustainable strategy to prevent deficiency, but evidence on their health impact is awaited. The weaning Wistar/Kyoto male rats were fed on a Zn-deficient diet (ZDD, < 0.1 ppm) for 4 weeks followed by repletion (pair feeding) with control rice diet without (CRD; 5.

Article Synopsis
  • This study evaluated functional lumen imaging probe (FLIP) metrics in obese patients, both surgically naïve and those who had undergone bariatric surgeries like sleeve gastrectomy (SG) or Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB).
  • Researchers found that common symptoms were dysphagia and chest pain across all patient groups, with notable differences in FLIP response patterns, particularly in patients who had bariatric surgery.
  • Despite many patients showing FLIP abnormalities, these did not correlate with esophageal symptoms or high-resolution manometry (HRM) findings, indicating a need for further investigation into esophageal issues in this population.

Background/objectives: T-cell lymphomas are often histologically indistinguishable from benign T-cell infiltrates, and diagnosis typically relies on slow, complex, and expensive multiplexed PCR reactions, requiring significant training and experience to interpret them. We aimed to raise highly specific antibodies against the two alternatively used and very similar T-cell receptor beta constant regions, TCRbeta1 and TCRbeta2, encoded by the and gene segments, respectively. We sought to demonstrate the feasibility of detecting TCRbeta1 and TCRbeta2 immunohistochemically in routine clinical (formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE)) tissue sections as a novel diagnostic strategy for T-cell lymphomas.
