47 elderly patients aged 60-74 with stable exertional angina of I-II functional classes and 2a type dislipidemia have been observed. The authors studied the efficacy of hypocholesteremic diet (HD) including soya-based food in comparison with the use of HD without soya-based food. Patients of the main group were prescribed HD, soya-based food (29 g of soya protein per day) and medications of a based therapy during four weeks.

Results of clinical and laboratoty studies on efficiency and safety of upplied soya-based food during intensive antimicobacterial treatment of patients with tuberculosis are presented in the article. Obtained results showed the necessity of introduction soya-based food in a complex treatment of this infection as it enhances processes of detoxication, positevely influences on functional and structural state of the liver, reduces cytolysis, cholestasis symptomes, mesenchymal and inflamation reactions thus increases the tolerance of antimicobacterial agents.

Moderate consumption of a curd-like product made of thermally-treated soy (SPT) led to the retardation of hormone-dependent (Walker W 256 carcinosarcoma in females) and some less hormone-independent (Guerin's carcinoma in males) tumor growth in rats. Excessive (ad libitum) consumption of the same product led to accelaration of W 256 tumor growth. A similar product made of raw soy (SPR) accelerated the growth of W-256 carcinosarcoma and made not any effect on the growth of Guerin's carcinoma.
