Duplicated gallbladder: an incidental anatomical variation in a patient with symptomatic cholelithiasis.

Congenital malformations of the biliary tract represent a relatively rare entity with which surgeons, radiologists and clinicians are not adequately familiarized. We present a rare case of gallbladder duplication in a 40-year-old female, with the accessory cystic duct entering the left hepatic duct, which depicts the fifth reported case in the international bibliography. Our case illustrates the importance of detailed knowledge of anatomical malformations of the biliary tree, serving the purpose of a preoperative diagnosis of symptomatic cholelithiasis.

Syndromic Craniosynostosis: A Comprehensive Review.

Craniosynostosis is a fetal skull condition that occurs when one or multiple sutures merge prematurely. This leads to limited growth perpendicular to the fused suture, which results in compensatory growth of cranial bones parallel to it. Syndromic craniosynostosis ensues when the cranial deformity is accompanied by respiratory, neurological, cardiac, musculoskeletal, and audio-visual abnormalities.

Methods and outcomes of teaching functional anatomy of the musculoskeletal system: A scoping review.

Purpose: Although musculoskeletal anatomy is inherently related to motion, there is a lack of evidence review about the best teaching practices for the locomotor apparatus functional anatomy. We aimed to detect the strategies that have been implemented for functional musculoskeletal anatomy education, and their outcomes, with the ultimate purpose of suggesting the most effective teaching methods.

Methods: The databases PubMed, Scopus, ERIC, and Cochrane Library were searched for papers with the purpose of exploring the outcomes (participants' perceptions and/or examination performance) of teaching functional musculoskeletal anatomy.

Correlation between Bovine Arch and Thoracic Aortic Disease: A Literature Review.

The bovine artery is considered the most frequent aortic arch branching variation. Despite being considered a normal variation of the aortic arch branching, still it has been linked with various issues regarding the thoracic aorta. The aim of this study is to highlight the prevalence of bovine artery among specific vascular pathologies throughout the literature and to provide information to clinicians about the importance of identifying this variation.

The Brachiocephalic Trunk Variant Origin and High-Riding Course: Two Cadaveric Cases.

Objective: The current report describes two rare cadaveric findings of a left sided brachiocephalic trunk (BCT) in relation to the trachea, and its high-riding course above the suprasternal notch (SN).

Cases Description: In two elderly body donors dissected after death, a left-sided BCT was identified with a high-riding course (0.5 and 0.
