Background: Determination of the impact of angiogenesis on tumor development and progression is essential. This study aimed to determine the serum levels of Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and Interleukin 6 (IL-6) in breast carcinoma, and to correlate them with tumor size, lymph node involvement, and cancer stage.

Methods: Under aseptic precautions 5 ml of venous blood was collected from 37 breast cancer patients and 20 healthy females after obtaining due consent and ethical committee clearance.

Background: Natural products have gained importance recently for the treatment of obesity and its complications, partly because of the side effects of modern drugs.Hence, we aimed to study and compare the effect of varying concentrations of adipogenesis and adipolysis using 3T3-L1 pre-adipocyte cell lines.

Methods: 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes were procured from the National Center for Cell Sciences, Pune, and cultured in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Media (DMEM) supplemented with 20% fetal bovine serum (FBS) and 1 mM L-glutamine.

Bulk Scale Formulation of Therapeutic Doses of Clinical Grade Ready-to-Use Lu-DOTA-TATE: The Intricate Radiochemistry Aspects.

Introduction: Lu-DOTA-TATE is a clinically useful and promising therapeutic radiopharmaceutical for peptide receptor radionuclide therapy of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) overexpressing somatostatin receptors. Currently, the radiopharmaceutical is prepared in-house at nuclear medicine centers, thereby restricting its use to limited centers only. In this article, the authors describe systematic studies toward bulk scale formulation of "ready-to-use" Lu-DOTA-TATE using medium specific activity Lu (740-1110 GBq/mg) at a centralized radiopharmacy facility.

A retrospective analysis of serial measurement of serum cholinesterase in acute poisoning with organophosphate compounds.

Objectives: Retrospective analysis of the utility of serial measurements of serum acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in predicting the duration of stay in the intensive care unit (ICU), duration of mechanical ventilation (MV) and outcome of the patient from MV in organophosphate (OP) compound poisoning patients.

Materials And Methods: The medical records of patients who presented to tertiary care hospital with symptomatic insecticidal poisoning from January 2009 to December 2010 were utilized for the study purpose. Forty four patients with history of poisoning were admitted during this period.
